“Steve Jobs, the late co-founder of Apple, Inc. and its former CEO, was famous for ending his keynote addresses that unveiled the tech giant’s newest products with ‘one more thing…’ which usually included an additional announcement to surprise the audience and this just could be the case with Apple reportedly rumored to be planning one last special event before the end of the year to unveil a slew of new Mac related products,” MacPrices reports.
“An iDrop News article written by Mike Peterson on October 1 detailed this additional special event which may possibly be held sometime during this month and will finally focus on its line of computer hardware to which major product updates have been next to absent so far this year, with the sole exception the release of two updated MacBook Pro models earlier in June,” MacPrices reports. “Missing from Peterson’s predictions is the iMac Pro and the Mac Pro, the two desktop computers designed for professional Mac users.”
MacPrices reports, “It’s looking like — if the second Apple special event even happens — that product announcements just may come to fruition next week if not the end of the month.

MacDailyNews Take: Of the items listed: iPad Pro, iMac, 13-inch MacBook/Air, Mac mini, AirPower, AirPods 2, what are you most interested in?
For us, we can’t wait to see the new 13-inch MacBook/Air (whatever they name it) and the new iPad Pro models!
Apple Pencil
New regular iMacs
How embarrassing would it be to use the moniker “one more thing..” to announce that the company was finally updating product lines that are as old as the company is. To borrow Steve’s famous line…it better be something new, and different, and exceptionally good.
In the pre-Cook era I would’ve been most interested in the Mac mini. Now I occasionally wonder if it ever gets updated what will be removed from it and how obscene its RAM and SSD prices will be. Or something like that; I can’t be bothered getting the details precise for a post on a forum that most posters will probably disagree with anyway. Yawn…
Actually, “least unexcited by” is probably more accurate than “most interested in”.
I agree with you. Tim Cook is all about money now. That idiot sucks. I really miss Steve Jobs
Do you whine Every day?….
Yup! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
In the Post-Cook era, I’m afraid that I’m pretty much only interested in the Mac mini … because if the Mac Pro ships, by the time that it is properly configured, it will be north of $8K.
As such, I’ll pick up an overpriced mini for … well, Tim will probably rationalize it to cost $ 2K.
That minimal investment will keep my OS X legacy stuff going, at which point I’ll then spend $5K for a Windows PC tower for the “Real Workflow” … and still have money left over in my own pocket, as well as a system that’s more maintainable than whatever Apple’s going to be offering. 🙁
Got to say, we have one of the earlier Mac minis, fully loaded with RAM and SSD, and it’s a little beast! It’s been working hard and never quits… Has outlasted the iMacs. And the second generation Cinema Display it’s driving is holding up just fine too. Somethings werejust built to last. Let’s see if Apple can take it up a notch without losing that robust character.
I’m holding out hope for more emojis. Cmon Timmy, don’t let me down.
Mini Pro – user configurable, SSD only and 32GB RAM
New AirPods in black
Sorry MDN, after fives of neglect the only thing I want to hear is Mac Pro…
Correction: after five years of neglect. Damn thumbs…
Seconded. ANY Mac Pro information/rendering, etc would be most welcome!
No way they’ll announce a new Mac Pro this year. They explicitly said 2019, which means they could reveal it in 12+ months for limited release in late December next year.
I’m hoping for a Macbook Air update, but expect to be disappointed by ports/price so will probably go with a 2015 Macbook Pro with no compromises (a 5th gen i5 with 16GB of RAM is more than enough).
Well if true, sad to say I have researched both Hackintosh and building a Pro PC for a lot less and expandable, as well. I’m not waiting six years. Eff you, Apple…
Happy days! It really is WAY past time. Off you go then.
That depends on Apple, fanboy. You say the same thing to me, how many times now? Never assume and don’t make the mistake buying a Pro PC is going to make me ditch my current collection of working Apple computers or leave MDN…
Why wouldn’t you ditch them if they are so profoundly crappy and you have something better? That’s profoundly weird… mentally ill, I think.
@John Smith, boy are you blind and stupid!…
Says the polical poster who whines about everything and insults every one. What a miserable person you are.

iMacs
iMac, Mac Pro desktop, Mac Mini, and iPad Pro in that order.
I want it to be an easy choice for corporate I. T. People to select Mac computers for employees.
Air Pods
Bring on the new iPad Pro please! I need a new daily driver…
And MacPro for the sake of Apple’s reputation.
Misguided CEO! If you agree, sign this petition to remove him and send a message to him we have had enough of pipeline Tim and his poor decision making – https://www.change.org/p/apple-board-of-directors-remove-tim-cook-as-ceo-of-apple
Yehhh… I’m sure the Board are REEEALLY unhappy with Tim’s performance in growing Apple to be the largest publicly-traded company in the world.
Mostly interested a New Mac mini for a media server. Need some more CPU power than my.
New AirPods with noise cancelling would be great. But I don’t expect them.
At this point any updated hardware would be welcome.
I can’t wait for the iPad Pro Max Special Edition in Gold.
Given iPad Pro is is based on A10X and there was not a mid-year A11X refresh this year, I suspect Apple may skip A11 series and release an A12X based iPad this quarter. That’s just my educated speculation.
I’d love to see an all-screen iPad mini 5… probably not gonna happen.
Whatever it is, prepare to be disappointed. Again.
Here’s a tip, Apple: update the products that have been insignificantly improved in over 2 years. Dig behind the couch for the few million in lost poker night money if you have to.
Thanks
