“Kanye West wants President Donald Trump to fly in a plane designed by Apple,” Paige Leskin reports for Business Insider.

“In a meeting Thursday with Donald Trump, West proposed the iPlane 1, a hydrogen-powered plane that would replace the existing Air Force One,” Leskin reports. “West showed Trump the design on his iPhone X — which appeared to have a lock code of “000000”— and suggested that Apple be the one to build the plane.”

Leskin reports, “‘If he don’t look good, we don’t look good. This is our president,’ West told reporters Thursday in the Oval Office. ‘He has to be the freshest, the flyest.'”

      Because he’s black.

      Because the mainstream media and Democrats continue to slander and libel President Trump as a R-word and because many black people who vote listen to Kayne.

      In 2016, candidate Trump garnered 8% of the black vote.
      In 2012, Romney managed to get 6%.
      In 2008, McCain only got 4%.

      With black unemployment now at historically low levels under his watch, President Trump is sure to do even better with black voters in 2020.

        1. Black people, generally speaking, are not ideologues. We do not subscribe to the liberal vs. conservative political spectrum that underscores America’s national debate. Black people do not think in terms of left vs. right or collectivism vs. individualism. We do not debate socialism vs. capitalism or Americanism vs. Communism. We do not argue equality vs. freedom. Black people, surprise surprise, primarily focus on black and white. Our political spectrum is decidedly binary. As with all things, we see politics through race-colored glasses.

          So when 90% of black people vote for Democrats, it is not because black people are modern day Bolsheviks, or that we disapprove of Donald Trump, it is because there is a sense that this is the most anti-white thing to do. That, and it is a habit. It has become a cultural tradition that receives far less analysis than where to eat Thanksgiving dinner.

          When considering candidates and issues, there is no discussion of what is best for the country or community. Black people do not consider the cultural health of the nation or the economic strength of America, either domestically or globally. Such issues are summed up with “America is Racist,” and “White people have all the money.”

          It is not that we don’t have opinions, ironically, on an issue by issue basis, black people would typically find themselves in Hillary Clinton’s, “Basket full of Deplorables.”

          For example, the LGBT movement is viewed dubiously in the “community.” There is resentment when LGBT issues are called “civil rights issues,” and there is a peculiar sense that “someone” is pursuing the feminization of black men.

          Black people are mainly Christian. Particularly black women. We tend to agree with the Christian Right on issues of religion and morality.

          Black people do not trust the government; it’s a massive example of white power. We are skeptical of authority. We urgently seek equal treatment under the law and equal opportunity, but not utter equality. Black people do not like high taxes.

          Black people believe in the right to have guns, and view gun control as manifested racism. Black people are generally anti-illegal alien, feeling that Mexicans have taken from blacks what we have earned, especially jobs. Black people would preferably be employed as opposed to accepting government assistance.

          Unfortunately, we remain hypnotized by the racist rhetoric and racialist actions of the Democratic Party while the Republican Party continues to be terrified of the word ‘race’ and avoids the topic altogether.

          This is all changing though.

      2. Brutal – you apparently don’t know many African Americans. The community is aware that Kanye is crazy. Many of the comments on this thread are correct. The President should not be hosting him publicly in the Oval Office. The Presidency is a position that deserves dignity and respect. This is not a good look.
        Donald – please call Barak or George (hmmm, Kanye was not a big fan of George) for advice on how to navigate these waters more appropriately. Do NOT call Bill.

      3. Have you considered that Mr. West has made history by becoming the first person since 1865 to use a visit to the White House as a public platform to criticize the 13th Amendment? He described the abolition of slavery as a “trap door” that rewarded weaklings who could not win freedom on their own. He has previously described slavery as “a choice.”

        I do not think that is a message that will help Mr. Trump win African-American support.

          I said that I do not imagine that it helps Mr. Trump’s position in the African-American community (or anywhere else outside the white nationalist movement) for him to sit calmly with a smile on his face while one of his invited guests argues that the abolition of slavery was a mistake. Do you disagree? Just answer that question without a personal attack or change of subject.

          The race of the speaker isn’t the issue. Neither is his talent or fame. The issue is Mr. West’s defense of human bondage. Most decent Americans agree that slavery wasn’t a “choice” and that the Thirteenth Amendment was not a “trap.”

      1. Kanye West and his bride Kim Kardashian have audiences with the White House whenever they choose because they are celebrities and Trump adores celebrities. He’s said so himself, and has always conspired to achieve premier celebrity status for himself. This isn’t fake news; Trump himself entrenched this in the media a long time ago. In fact, he doesn’t deny it. Why should he? As he’s said, any publicity is good publicity. You just have to admire someone who is the total opposite of a politician, do you not? A politician kisses babies, shakes hands, tries to be all things to all people in order to get votes. Trump has never been comfortable with his so-called handlers, who try to regulate his speech and temper his emotions. They are small people who are attempting to contain a large personality. Caesar is a force unto himself and requires no interpreters, no intercessions, no explanations; only tribute.

        2. Republicans have dreams too, and how! And they worked for them, tirelessly, for decades. The deck was usually stacked against them, since 1960 or so, but they found ways to lift themselves by their bootstaps — a physical impossibility, but not a political one, not when you have enough financially motivated donors and are willing to look the other way once in a while. Of course, Democrats were doing similar things all along, and it’s a crying shame that every single contest has to feature intemperate shouting about the lesser of two evils, or about good versus evil, or about corruption versus innocence, or about socialism versus capitalism, about the left wing and the right wing. But that’s politics. It’s business as usual.   2. The iPlane would be beautiful, luxurious, fast, and powerful. It would only let you cruise at 37,000 feet and above, and only land at Apple authorised airports.

    If the iPlane has an engine problem, the engine cowlings are welded to the wings, so you need to replace the whole wing too. To do the repairs, iPlane must be sent to an Apple-certified engineer who then has to send it to Apple anyway. If you can’t truck it or piggy back it NASA style, well yeah…

  9. Beautiful moment in history, just beautiful. It’s no coincidence that Apple’s stock price has risen 80% (on its way to 100%) since President Trump took office. Keep these stories coming MDN, they are highly relevant to Apple and as a side benefit all of the posing losers come out of the woodwork to squeal like pigs, it’s really amazing.

    1. If you look at AAPL over the last ten years, there has been a pretty consistent upward average trajectory. Where there have been significant dips in late 2012 and mid 2015, corrections followed over the following 18-24 months so that the overall trajectory remains broadly the same. There has been a period of consistently strong growth since May 2016, long before the last election.

      I don’t see any sign that that AAPL’s performance in the last couple of years is significantly better or worse than during any other similar time and nor can I detect any indication that presidents of either party have made any meaningful positive or negative impact on AAPL’s performance.

      Charts can create quite different impressions depending on whether the Y axis is linear or logarithmic and if zero is suppressed, so for clarity, I prefer to use simple graphs such as this one.
