Apple’s new iPad Pro just leaked (and it’s gorgeous)

“While all the focus for Apple’s September 12 event is now on the iPhone XS and Apple Watch Series 4, there are substantial rumors of a new iPad Pro line that could debut alongside those gadgets,” Jesus Diaz reports for LAPTOP Magazine. “If it looks anything like these renders obtained by OnLeaks, it’s going to be good.”

“The renders show the rumored smart connector at the bottom of the iPad Pro which, in theory, could be designed to allow for using the tablet in a vertical orientation with a physical keyboard,” Diaz reports. “The renders show the greatly reduced edges all around the tablet — and no home button.”

Diaz reports, “The other obvious feature is the flat edge, a clear departure from the current rounded edges on the iPad and iPhone lines and more similar to the iPhone 5.”

  1. I would be shocked if the next 12.9″ iPad Pro looks just like this. This basically looks like an iPhone 8 crossed with an iPhone X without proper scaling of components.

    Just a couple of points:
The objective of the back camera is way too large.
The contacts for the “smart connector” are too large and badly placed.

    1. A protruding camera on an iPhone is bad enough, although an understandable compromise given the size of an iPhone. Besides, an iPhone will generally be handheld.

An iPa has a lot more internal volume. The logic board is a relatively small part of an iPad. Most of it is battery. So, there is plenty of room to improve the camera without an offending back mole!

Even with the iPhone, I would prefer that Apple just make it a little thicker and get rid of the camera protrusion. With the iPad, it would be ridiculous to have a protruding camera.
