Affinity Publisher free public beta goes live for Mac users

“After being teased on video late last year, Affinity Publisher, from the same team that brought you Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer, is now available in public beta,” Jeff Benjamin reports for 9to5Mac. “The public beta comes a few months ahead of the initial public release, but developer Serif is allowing users to take it for a free test drive ahead of launch.”

“Like Affinity Designer, and Affinity Photo before it, Affinity Publisher is aligning itself to be a direct competitor to its Adobe CC equivalent — InDesign,” Benjamin reports. “Many people who rely on apps like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator have eschewed those apps in favor of Affinity-based alternatives, and Publisher could be the app that really makes a full transition from Adobe’s subscription based service possible.”

  1. I have been playing with this app all day long now. Exciting, really exciting. Not all tools from Indesign right now, but a great start. There will be the day when we will delete Indesign!

  2. I absolutely resent rented software, hoping that Affinity eventually kills Adobe just like Steve Jobs correctly stuck a spike through the heart of Flash which is nearly dead, still twitching a little bit on Android.

      1. Should a competitor like Infinity eventually kill rent freak Adobe, its death would be poetic justice since Adobe, I read, bought and killed some very well liked drawing software that competed with its own. People wailed at its death and and shook a stick at Adobe as much as media now is now wailing at McCain’s death while shaking a stick at Trump.
