“Barclays is out today with its latest predictions for Apple’s upcoming product launches,” Michael Potuck reports for 9to5Mac. “The firm says that we’ll see the new AirPods wireless charging case arrive as Apple debuts AirPower next month, corroborates previous reports that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will be delayed, and more.”
“Barclays believes AirPods will continue to see strong demand with sales estimated near 26 million for this year,” Potuck reports. “It has changed its prediction for an AirPods 2 release from 1H 2019 to Q4 2019.”
“As for iPhone, the report corroborates other reports like today’s from Kuo that the 2018 OLED iPhones are on track for a September release. However, the 6.1-inch LCD model will be delayed by a month with production starting by ‘late August into early September,'” Potuck reports. “While we’ve heard that this year’s LCD model will drop 3D Touch, the note curiously predicts that all 2019 iPhone will lose the feature.”

MacDailyNews Take: We use 3D Touch quite a bit and, if it does indeed go the way of the dodo, we hope Apple has a suitable new method to deliver the same or similar functionality.
Why the hell would they get rid of 3D Touch? It’s more useful now than ever and it’s value can only rise as we move toward a buttonless world.

What the f*ck do Barclays know about anything? They just employ another bunch of so called analists that write something to keep their bosses happy. It’s really pathetic how they spew out all this forecasting garbage, most of which ends up being completely false.
I also use 3D Touch often. As often as l use it, l feel it has more uses than l take advantage of.
I hope they have something great to replace it with
Regarding 3D Touch, wouldn’t a “long press” do the same thing? And by long press I mean something equivalent to what it takes to reorganize your icons? Then you’d just need a new touch for reorganizing icons, which would be an easy fix.
