    1. Can not you….yes you know who you are…Americans just grow up and give it a rest with the partisan bullshit? For one day in the year?
      By way of contrast, I spent the day at my local US airbase here in the UK, shooting 400 NSSA skeet – the full Monty 12, 20, 28 and .410 with my avionics specialist nephew(he calls me “uncleBrit” since his brother married my daughter) and his pals. An exhausting but hugely fun day. We were even joined by the base commander for the doubles round which I won dropping only one shot with me shooting ISO skeet rules ie. gun down against the hip. Not bad for an oldie- but then I got totally hammered in the 28 and .410 rounds. Followed by a barbecue to die for and base fireworks fuelled by way too much grain whiskey. My contribution to the day? Red Velvet Oreos from the American Sweet Store in London, which are always in short supply on the base. And not one sour note the whole day. Not one.
      Just imagine that.

        1. No…in my case it’s first and foremost a sport, an Olympic sport in my case, which I pursued for over 20 years trying to qualify for selection. I own four such ‘tools of the trade’. Never once thought of them as a weapon nor will they be used for any other purpose or anywhere other than a licensed shooting ground.
          It’s distressing that folk can’t distinguish between developing your sporting skills and guns in… I’ll stop right there and just rejoice in a day of shared humanity thanks.

      This morning on Fox & Friends just before 9:00 a.m. EST a band played a patriotic song and I suspect it might be the same band.

      If it is, the show host said the song was BANNED by Fakebook for being too controversial. Can you believe that!?!?!

      Also trending Fakebook flagged the Declaration of Independence!?!?!

      And judging by the 80 one-star votes for posting a patriotic video, it seems the LEFT has completely LOST their minds. That is, if they had minds to begin with.

Yeah, wanting NATA to realize the US isn’t their piggy bank, open borders isn’t safe, preferences given on skin color are so anti-King, pursuing trade based on equity, and not wanting to embrace a penalty (self-flagellation) with the Paris Accord is so, so Red. On this Day of Independence, let’s kick sovereignty to the curb and knit ourselves to the hope and change of our past leader. He was so smart and he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

          – The Paris Accord is about climate change and the actions to keep our only planet safe and clean.

          – RED is having Trump call Putin to congratulate him on his presidential victory when Putin was the only candidate running for president.

The Indians are still waiting that Conald Trump keeps his promise and sends all the immigrants back to home including him and his immigrant family.

        4. Whoops, busy redistributing wealth made me write the incorrect “N” word…should have been NATO. The US, in the spirit of sharing, has been paying for a huge portion of Europe’s protection, which enables then to supplement their citizens bans-aids and groceries. Don, the meanie he is, proclaimed recently that the US can’t continue being their sugar daddy in this way. And you know what, even before any changes have taken place, Sweden is giving serious reconsideration of their Bernie-like State picnic. Oh wait, the democrat party has said Mr. Sanders is too far right. Viva la State…Perez for Prez…go Ocasio-Cortez, AMLO. Sorry, these things are exciting. In addition, except for New World Order Angela, most EU govts are putting the brakes on their friendly “come-on-in, we’ll-take-care-of-you” welcome mat because it just ain’t working out. Budgets and safety are a bitch sometimes. Interesting that’s happening after their 1st hand experience and the enlightened in the US are parading signs that say “nuke ICE” and “Open Borders.” Ok, maybe we should just try it…we can always go back.
          You might want to read up on the Paris Accord a bit BJ because, although it falls under the “fix climate change” category, the papers got mixed up a bit because it’s really about the wealthy countries “donating”, their resources to poorer countries. Wow, charity…that’s gotta be good? Well sure, if sharing the wealth and all for one, one for all, rings a sweet ball for you.

          Oh yeah, back to climate change…well, it really has little to do with “fixing” the problem. Non-partisan conclusions confirm the net result of the Accord will bring minuscule changes to the environment. But who cares when “each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” sounds so good and heart warming.

          Yeah, Don’s friendship Vlad is clearly too lovey-dovey. It irked me and everyone (except the statists) a lot when Don told Vlad “After my election I have more flexibility.” What is this collusional love, or what. Oh sorry, someone just told me, that’s what O said to the other Russian leader.

          I’ll try to write more when I get back from Venezuela.

And let’s not forget the Comey coverup of Clinton’s e-mail crimes she skated on. His guilt was evident when he reopened the e-mail investigation weeks before the election.

          You really need to educate yourself on ALL the facts. Not just the selective false versions put out by the Democrats and media …

          The Justice Dept has been gutted by Trump. Attorney Gen Jeff Sessions was chosen by Trump. Deputy AG Rosenstein was chosen by Trump. Sessions also lied to congress about meeting twice with Russians.

          The Mueller investigation has not concluded. The Senate investigation into the Russian melding has not concluded.

          The FBI has been investigating Trump since about June of 2016. Considering the GOP have had control of congress since Jan 2015, you would think they would have had hearings on “Obama’s” meddling. But even the GOP have said, there is no proof of any such thing.

        20. isn’t a GOP website. Indeed they were part of the creation of a dossier on Hillary and halted their involvement before the dossier morphed into the Yellow Sheet–Russian Whorelets Show. It was during the dossier’s 2nd life, having nothing to do with your bright “GOP website” comment, that it erroneously became the basis of some FISA investigations. It’s worth noting here, those initiating the FISA requests were completely transparent with the presiding judge, that the request wasn’t partisan and in no way involved in opposition research favoring Hillary. Opps, I just lied…it was motivated by opposition research and the judge wasn’t made aware of this.
          Btw, what was “coffee boy” charged with? Michael Flynn? Didn’t Comey himself state there were no grounds to arrest Flynn? Is it interesting the Australian diplomat has a financial connection to the Clinton Foundation?

          Then why hasn’t the GOP controlled congress created hearings to investigate Clintons email server. They can have Trey Gowdy setup the hearings. Trey spent two and a half years investigating the Benghazi attacks and found nothing.

          If you want weaponized look at the AG Sessions who has side stepped immigration laws and re-defined what hardship is acceptable to be granted asylum.

        2. I suspect the down voting in those high numbers is rigged by a handful of dishonest voters. Botty and I used to notice over 50 down votes in 15 minutes all the time and we laughed about it in posts. No way that is possible for honest voting, it is FAKE.

          To your other point, yes dishonest people and criminals need to feel good about themselves, contrived as it is. Certainly there are honest detractors in there as well, we just don’t know the number breakdown.

          Either way, voting on this site is uneven at best and could not care less …

  5. Whose independence; from what from whom?

    To wish someone a Happy Independence Day is political commentary, and superficial, nearly meaningless. More meaningful to me would be to wish me a Happy Beer and Sports Day.

    And I don’t feel any happier today from most other days. If you wish me a happy day, you are presuming that I need your urging to make my day happy. Most, if not all, of my days are “happy” or happy enough especially when doing productive stuff on my iMac but especially happy when making huge progress in art production and exhibition which has nothing to do with US Independence.

    And since we live in a still expanding age of globalization, hey, pick your own holiday from other nations:
