Apple CEO Cook told President Trump that he loves the tax cut and tax reform – Larry Kudlow

“Apple CEO Tim Cook was in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, in a meeting the president said would cover trade, presumably including dealings with China,” Anita Balakrishnan reports for CNBC.

“But the first topic on the agenda was tax cuts, according to Larry Kudlow, director of the National Economic Council,” Balakrishnan reports. “‘He loves the tax cut and tax reform,’ Kudlow said Thursday. ‘He said it’s great for business. And Apple is going to be building plants, campuses, adding jobs, lots of business investment. That was the first point he made to President Trump.'”

“China is a vital market both for sales of Apple products and for Apple’s supply chain, although early signs of tariffs haven’t indicated any direct impacts on Apple products. Kudlow said that he took Cook’s suggestions about an upcoming meeting with Chinese officials,” Balakrishnan reports. “‘Tim Cook was most helpful, I really enjoyed the meeting,’ Kudlow told CNBC’s ‘Squawk on the Street.’ ‘I spent a good amount of time with him, and then we came back and we visited the POTUS. He has a lot of experience in China, obviously. He was very helpful in making some suggestions.'”

      1. You cling to an farce predicated on a tainted dossier funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign as the basis for spying on the opposition campaign.

Christopher Steele was paid $160,000 to create the Trump dossier for Fusion GPS. The Hillary Clinton presidential campaign and Democratic National Committee financed the work. So the FBI and Justice Department used opposition research from a presidential campaign to launch an investigation into that campaign’s political opponent — an obviously illegal use of federal government surveillance for political purposes. Neither the FBI nor Obama’s Justice Dept. informed FISC that the information had in fact been paid for by the Democrats, which would have immediately raised doubts about the surveillance request’s legitimacy

You cling to the Mueller farce like a retarded infant monkey to his mother’s teat. What will you do when the milk dries up and you find there’s nothing there, little baby retarded monkey?

        1. I will cling to any avenue tat will expose the truth about your lying, self-serving, vile, autocratic, vain leader. As long as it’s the truth, I don’t care who pays for it.

Want to lock up Hillary? I hope they share a cell!

        2. Poor little baby retarded monkey, set for such a hard fall. It’ll be at least as bad for you as every day since November 8, 2016. 🙂

          🤣🤣🤣

        3. Actually the Dossier was initially funded as Republican opposition research and was picked up by the Clinton Campaign later.
          Get your facts straight.

I guess that completely blows up your theory, at least it should.

        4. That is incorrect. The opposition research firm behind the dossier, Fusion GPS, had contracted with Republican donor Paul Singer for research on candidates including Trump, but that was unrelated to the controversial dossier.

        5. The Washington Free Beacon – a Right Wing Website put up the initial money. Not anyone on the Democratic side.
Since its launch in February of 2012, the Washington Free Beacon has retained third party firms to conduct research on many individuals and institutions of interest to us and our readers. In that capacity, during the 2016 election cycle we retained Fusion GPS to provide research on multiple candidates in the Republican presidential primary, just as we retained other firms to assist in our research into Hillary Clinton. All of the work that Fusion GPS provided to the Free Beacon was based on public sources, and none of the work product that the Free Beacon received appears in the Steele dossier. The Free Beacon had no knowledge of or connection to the Steele dossier, did not pay for the dossier, and never had contact with, knowledge of, or provided payment for any work performed by Christopher Steele. Nor did we have any knowledge of the relationship between Fusion GPS and the Democratic National Committee, Perkins Coie, and the Clinton campaign.

Representatives of the Free Beacon approached the House Intelligence Committee today and offered to answer what questions we can in their ongoing probe of Fusion GPS and the Steele dossier. But to be clear: We stand by our reporting, and we do not apologize for our methods. We consider it our duty to report verifiable information, not falsehoods or slander, and we believe that commitment has been well demonstrated by the quality of the journalism that we produce. The First Amendment guarantees our right to engage in news-gathering as we see fit, and we intend to continue doing just that as we have since the day we launched this project.

          I always do my homework.

        6. Distraction comment and it has ZERO bearing on what the Obama administration and the Clinton/DNC did unethically and possibly illegally during the campaign. Just because the Democrat liberal biased media continues to ignore the REAL story of the year, not President Trump, does not mean it did not happen and it is not IMPORTANT. As always, they are one sided covering their teams arse! …

        7. There is no “Democrat Liberal biased media”. They are corporate and that is neither left or right.

It is amazing how a reporter or producer when working for Fox is considered the fount of truth, but when the same person works for anyone else they are part of the “Democrat liberal media”.

  1. Go ahead Timmy your plant is on us!

So is your portion of the societal and military infrastructure that supports us all.

Any chance you’ll build it here? If you do, will you agree never to move? We’re giving you a plant after all…

If you move, will you refund the money?

  2. That is likely not exactly what Cook said. In an interview he said he liked the tax cut for corporations and on money earned abroad, but did not like the personal cuts for people with higher incomes. He favors higher taxes for the 1%.

    1. Of course they say that to be PC. The top 1% don’t pay income tax the same way most do so they can agree in principal and claim they have sacrificed.

But yeah I get Tim’s point; If you are successful you should pay more because after all, you didn’t build that nest-egg on your own….

  3. When Tim Cook was interviewed recently he said he supported the changes in Corporate Taxation, but excluded the changes made to individual taxes.
    From the Official Transcript:
HAYES: Part of responsibility or social contract for anyone, right – citizens, nonprofits, corporations – is how we interact with government. Taxes is one part of that, as well, regulation. You know, Apple just announced a huge investment in the U.S. right. Repatriated all this money from abroad, paid a one-time tax fee. There’s a question now, does that change how Apple works going forward? Big argument about this tax bill was the U.S. tax code was uncompetitive and it forced companies to do things like incorporate in places like Ireland or the Island of Jersey so that they could avoid the onerous rate. Not that’s changed, now the money’s been brought back, does that change how Apple legally exists in terms of where it’s incorporated and what taxes it pays?

COOK: Yes, what it does, Chris, is that it allows you to take earnings that you are earning in other countries in the world – maybe you’re earning them in Latin America or the Middle East or wherever you’re selling your product – and it allows you to take those earnings and invest in the United States without a further penalty.

HAYES: Right but is that a one-time thing or is that or is that an alternation –

COOK: No that’s an ongoing thing.

HAYES: – permanently to the way you guys are incorporated.

COOK: That is ongoing and that was the biggest thing in the tax thing from a corporate point of view. For your viewers, I want to distinguish corporate versus individuals.

    HAYES: Right.

COOK: I – we took no position on individual because we would just be a part of the peanut gallery. We have no special expertise there. It’s not something I would have done, right, or in that way, but the corporate piece I do believe is good for America because I think what the result of it will be is America will have higher investments.

    HAYES: Yes.

      1. Govt jobs for all who need/desire and min wage $15 across the board. With healthcare for all, and above changes, let’s look at a total tax rearrangement. I propose that govt determine wages and totals will be based on supporting above programs. Go Red!

  4. All corporatists are enthralled when the US government allows them to use the national credit card and never pay it back.

    Modern Rome is aflame.

Once “conservatives” cared about national fiscal responsibility. To conserve for the future, after all, requires self constraint. But for the last 50 years, the hypocrites of both corrupt parties have done nothing but let corporations privitize gains and socialize losses. The American taxpayers of the future are screwed. The question isn’t whether there will be a hangover, the question is how bad it will be.

Note also that the Trumpanzees aren’t bragging about the economy anymore. The boom fizzled as soon as Trump started his tarriff spree. All the corporate handouts got undermined by a stupid protectionist plan. NASDAQ, S&P500, and other indices are all flat for 2018. Is median income rising? No, we are still rushing headlong into a future with a handful of global (not American!) billionaires and a lot of millenials working 2 and three dead end gigs with no benefits. The corporate tax giveaway of 2017 isn’t making more jobs. The few automated factories that may be built in the USA (MAYBE) are easily offset by the decline in international trade. Most likely corporate executives will simply pocket the gift and continue enjoying near-slave wage advantages from Asian labor pools. No tax cut will ever offset the difference in labor rate.
