“Whilst there may not be as many new features this year in the flagship Apple operating systems as some years past, there is no mistaking that iOS 12 and macOS 10.14 are very much under active development and distribution amongst internal Apple employees is growing,” Benjamin Mayo reports for 9to5Mac.
“Our website analytics have recorded a noticeable uptick in Safari browser visits from iOS 12 and macOS 10.14 machines, particularly with bigger spikes just this week,” Mayo reports. “It is normal practice for Apple engineers to test out internal seeds by using devices running pre-release firmware and operating systems to visit sites like ours.”
Mayo reports, “Every year, we observe the same rough pattern.”

MacDailyNews Take: Yes, we’re seeing it, too, with a smattering of sessions via iOS 12 beginning in early March and peaking in early April and even more sessions coming from macOS 10.14 beginning in late March and peaking in mid-April.
What I want to see at WWDC is an updated Mac mini ready to ship that is no longer sealed shut and that has decent CPU/GPU options.

If there is no updated Mac mini announced by back to school, interpret that as a slow death like Airport.
I want a headless Mac, Tim as I alradey have a nice 4K DisplayPort Monitor on my desk. One with decent CPU BTO options and a discrete GPU. Seems funny that H-P can do it but Apple seems incapable. Some of us do not want an iSight Camera that can be hacked to be on without our knowledge. A discrete camera can be unplugged or turned off.

You may see it but I would almost bet my mansion that it won’t be ready to ship. I could be wrong but Apple doesn’t do “ready to ship” intros any more. Speaking of that, my Apple Watch just started doing the nightstand clock thing when I put it on the charger. Wasn’t that intro’d about two years ago? I had forgotten about it after I decided I must have missed it. Now with this new WatchOS update, here it is…. finally.

There is NO WAY that Apple visit this site on any version of iOS or macOS. True story.
What I want to see is a recommitment to accessibility, and using machine learning and such to make screen reading a whole lot better. For iOS11, Apple did the me too thing and added the ability for Voiceover to read text in images. This feature *still* sucks, Microsoft’s Seeing AI app blows it out of the water. Blind people still have to read the equivalent to black and white text. Voiceover doesn’t show that text is formatted and even in Notes it just reads out the changes. imagine having to read “this is an italic test plain”. Yeah, boring isn’t it? Research Apple, and listen. How is Microsoft ahead of you on this? Why can’t you see that your being slowly left behind?
