Hopefully he’ll be able to bring the Pervasive Computing concept to Apple that he mentions around 19:10. At present with the specialized AI silicon in newer iOS devices Apple’s current course seems to go in a direction counter to what he is describing.
Apple employee Giannandrea defines privacy as privacy for the individual where AI or, as he says, Machine Learning, is not used to track individuals. Groups are the apposite. His group tracks groups wholeheartedly. This poses a risk to, say, movements of groups of protesters which bodes badly for democratic protests by reformist groups from all political parties. I am sure that whistleblower Edward Snowden knows the details.
The governmental spy agencies also like AI; Whatever data/info they can’t legally get on their own, they can simply purchase from Google, FB, credit agencies, or grocery distributors. Your individual shopping habits could be included, so this is where he’s being disingenuous as to his statement.
