“After months of anticipation, Apple will finally launch its iOS 11.3 update tomorrow,” Shivali Best reports for The Mirror. “The new operating system will be available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and is expected to be unveiled at Apple’s ‘Let’s Take a Field Trip’ event in Chicago on Tuesday.”
“Apple has confirmed that in iOS 11.3, users will be able to view their battery health, and turn off this ‘battery throttling,'” Best reports. “Animoji – animated emoji that mimic the user’s voice and facial expressions – have also been given an update, in the form of four new characters. Apple said: ‘iOS 11.3 introduces four new Animoji, giving iPhone X users the ability to express themselves as a lion, bear, dragon or skull.'”
“Several new augmented reality experiences have also been added to the ARKit in iOS 11.3,” Best reports. “As well as horizontal surfaces, like tables, ARKit can now recognise and place virtual objects on vertical surfaces, like walls.”

MacDailyNews Take: What we want most: A rock-solid Messages in iCloud that finally syncs our Messages across all of our Macs and iOS devices and AirPlay 2 (hey, we can dream)!
Airplay 2?
Curious if the battery control setting will also be on iPads, even if they supposedly don’t have the same issue (yet). The iPad’s larger batteries are better out of the gate, but they too will eventually wear. At that time I would like the same options.
My guess is that they probably will, but let’s see.
As to MDM ‘s comment, absolutely fix this instead of farting around with emojis and other such bullshit. My iCloud email account does not sync between my iPhone and MBPro which is really annoying
I’m so happy there will be new emojis – how about Apple fix the issue where photos can’t sync to an iPad Air 2 ever since the initial iOS 11 update. Keeps displaying internal device error and googling it suggests quite a number of people have the issue
So maybe 1 less emoji and fix your ^##%
How about making Flagged emails in the Apple Mail app match the Apple Mail program on the Mac??
Seven colors on the Mac. One color on the iPhone.
Ditto on the rock solid iMsg. For some oddball reason my Macbook Air won’t sync messages unless it is turned on when the messages are sent. My iPhone, iPad and much older iMac will sync fine, even if they are off ( a rarity) when the message is sent. But the Air just doesn’t like it much. And, yes, I have set everything up and gone over the settings over and over again looking for problems. None that I can find.
I am very happy and satisfied with my ios 10.3.2, by I phone SE 64GB is fast, snappy and smooth. Not going to upgrade to ios 11
What happened to spending a year on only existing features in iOS?
please forgive my ignorance. Can you provide some clarity? imessage.. with 11.3 I can delete a message on my phone and it also disappears from my macbook and my imac and my ipad? Is that correct?
You can already do that with iOS 10 and higher – everything will sync in messages and texts between devices IF you are signed in to iMessage correctly. That is the important part! Sign in with your Apple ID on each of your devices, starting with your iPhone – select your phone number as the originator of all “sent” messages then sign on to iMessage with your Apple ID on every other device making sure that your “sent from” option is still your cellphone number. Make sure that your “text message forwarding” option in messages in your iPhone is “on” and that you have selected all of your other devices to “receive” and yes, everything should be the same 😀. I have helped many people with this and find it works perfectly if everything is signed in correctly.
Thanks for info!
That process is a bit
MDN, didn’t you get the memo ? Better stability and quality vs. new features is coming in iOS 12. For now we have to suffer.
Or by lucky 13, if Timmy can get around to it.
The beta I had installed still were hungry on the power use. Hope they fixed that.
Microsoft, hurry up and put this iPhone company out of its business.

They can’t very well do that without a competing smartphone, and they’ve already struck out swinging every time at bat so far.
New emoji … awesome!
Fake AR photos on the wall …. perfect!
All I need!
