“Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose isn’t all that active on Twitter, but usually when he does chime in, he has something of substance to say,” Chad Childers reports for Loudwire.
“In his tweet, Rose called Cook ‘the Donald Trump of the music industry,'” Childers reports. “While there was no further explanation, given Rose’s recent postings about Trump the tweet could definitely be viewed as a jab.”
“Trump has been a repeat target of Rose’s criticism,” Childers reports. “Oddly enough, Donald Trump once referenced Axl Rose, with Guns N’ Roses’ former manager Doug Goldstein revealing an encounter where Trump once called Rose ‘the Donald Trump of rock and roll.'”
Tim Cook is the Donald Trump of the music industry.

MacDailyNews Take: Sounds like some GNR – Apple negotiation has hit a rough patch.
Axl Rose is an asshat.
Perfect response.
I mean there is plenty to criticise Cook for but really Donald True probably would be pretty much the paradoxical opposite to him. Take that as a compliment or insult as you please and in the process of the latter its clearly all Rose could think of off the cuff in his state of mind these days. Clearly NOT the oracle thats for sure… though there are perhaps similarities between the original’s methodology and Rose’s form of ‘wisdom’ perhaps
Good thing axl is completely irrelevant these days….. is Chinese democracy out yet?
This is the guy who wrote an album entitled “Chinese Democracy” Nuff said.
Global Stupidity is concentrated primarily in the entertainment industry, so what else is new?
It may have to do with bitter old resentments about the collapse of the LP/Cassette/CD model to downloads. But then weren’t the record companies robbing them blind anyways? The only way most artists can make money these days is merchandising and regular singing for their $upper.
Ridiculous they have plenty of money. Actually they make entirely too much money.

I guess he doesn’t like to be locked into Paradise City!
Axl: Don’t share Tide pods.
Who is Axl Rose?
Axl Rose is the same bone smoker who made people wait 2+ hours before finally coming out in concert.
And that doesn’t sound like a HopePod Christmas how?
HomePod…
Tim “Visionless Caretaker” Cook wishes he were the “Donald Trump” of anything.
Exactly. Clueless Cook has not mentioned the pipeline lately since the Steve spigot was turned off. Caretaker status without the next “big things” will not shield him from the eventual iPhone sales slowdown. That will be interesting to watch …
Axl Rose is the Goober Pyle of The Andy Griffith Show.
I liked it.
honestly I’m not happy about the way Apple has killed the income that artists can make by chopping up their albums and renting it piecemeal. Only Apple get the bulk monthly income and every independent artists work has becomes worthless and out of context.
why do I need a buy a whole pile of crap to get one good song?
If all the songs were good than I’ll buy all of them so whether it’s a album or a single doesn’t matter.
your argument makes no sense to me.
The truth of the matter is that most musicians make their money on tour and from merchandising instead of through the sale of their songs or albums- the inverse of the way it was for a very long time.
There are doubtless exceptions, but that is the broad truth of the business.
Well, if Cook was more like Trump then Apple would change in the positive.
Higher wages for employees, lower taxes, corporate confidence off the charts, bringing manufacturing jobs back, employment numbers climbing, product sales soaring to name a few …
Make Apple Great Again … 😎
The statement is a non sequitur.
Not sure what the link is between the two.
Axl should probably see a doctor and get checked out.
Donald Trump is one of the most heroic figures in modern history. That is a tremendous compliment from Rose and I hope it means Cook is making big strides to have Apple dominate music and entertainment.
Although Trump is universally vilified outside of USA, he is known around the world for having made some successful deals, early in his career. So maybe Mr Rose’s comment isn’t all disparaging.
“Although Trump is universally vilified outside of USA”
As opposed to Obama “universally” viewed as weak and a pushover joke? I’ll take peace through strength every time.
Obvious you missed Presient Trump’s remarkable Davos appearance where he was treated like a rock star by world leaders. You can catch up here:

Obvious you missed the announcement the last 12 hours saying the North Korean leader agreed to face to face talks with President Trump and also announced cease fire of missile launches.
Pushing false narratives may help those still smarting from election results, but they do not change reality … 🇺🇸
