Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple’s next-gen Apple 6.1-inch iPhone will not offer 3D Touch

“KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today shared additional details about the rumored 6.1-inch iPhone that he expects to launch in the second half of 2018,” Joe Rossignol reports for MacRumors.

“We already know the device is said to have some iPhone X features, including Face ID, but with some design compromises to achieve a cheaper price point,” Rossignol reports. “That will include an LCD screen, as known, and now Kuo says the device will have an aluminum frame, single-lens rear camera, and no 3D Touch.”

“Kuo believes the 6.1-inch iPhone will be a mid-range device priced between $700 and $800 in the United States, up from his previous $650 to $750 estimate,” Rossignol reports. “The device is expected to be announced around September-October as usual alongside a new 5.8-inch iPhone X and a larger 6.5-inch version dubbed iPhone X Plus.”

  1. ‘Kuo’…. I’m beginig to suspect that this guy actually works for Apple and acts as the controlled leak outlet..
How can he keep going on and on with so many detailed rumors that turn out to be true……. yet Apple, almost a trillion dollar Corp with such obsession for secrecy, can not shut him up?!
    Does not make sense.

    PS.
I rarely access 3d touch… i feel it’s potential has not been effectively realized in the ui yet.

    1. I haven’t used it for typos, but will give it a go. For me I think the haptic feedback is the awesome part, one small example is scrolling through dates and times when creating calendar events. It creates a much more tacticle experience integrated into iOS. With my X I don’t miss the home button at all.

  2. A big company like Apple really needs a spoke person to represent a straighten out all the rumors such as Ming chi kou. He is full of FUD shitholes. Any thing comes from him is discredited.
