I still haven’t upgraded from Sierra waiting for Apple to stop the High Sierra floundering. Maybe now is the time depending on a survey of my apps so supported.
Most of us have been using High Sierra with virtually no problem since Day 1 (or when Adobe updated their apps). Most of the problems have been way overblown.
Can anyone out there tell me if I should install this on a 2012 Mac with Fusion Drive yet? How long do I have to hold off on updating it to High Sierra?
I heard Tim Cook say that will be fixed soon…by 2025.

After my experience in the last 12 hours with the 10.13.3 “update” I would suggest to wait a year until Apple gets the basics right
Three attempts to install, all failed.
Thankfully I had a Time Machine backup to return to 10 10.13.2.
Funny thing; (or not) This month is my 30th anniversary on Mac.
This last summer I did a web development contract where the client required the work to be done at his facility on Windows 10, a 4 month project due to the size and complexity of the site.
In the past Apple was known for the most stable operating system, good apps, and even though a small selection of 3rd party apps they were the best for the work that I do.
Now its the apps that matter more than the operating system.
Windows 10: no issues, but the apps still suck. Double the production time that the project should have taken, but thats the apps, no issues at all with Windows 10 except for the horribly clunky interface. It did work though, updates are seamless.
Apple: the finest selection of 3rd party apps ever. Seriously.
Apple apps : I use Safari, Mail, TextEdit, Preview. The iWork group, haven’t been there in years. Well, not totally true, I did use Pages 09 for a 5 minute project a few months ago.
Without the absolutely excellent development work of the 3rd party app designers who still believe in Apple (maybe) I would be gone.
I will stay because my business depends on it. No other reason.
Sierra’s also got an update, fortunately (since I’m still on it). Security Update 2018-001 10.12.6.
I have a MacPro (Late 2013) and I have had some serious issues with OS High Sierra that I didn’t experience at all with OS Sierra. I upgraded about three weeks ago. In retrospect, I wish I never would have upgraded and kept macOS Sierra running.
— I cannot leave the MacPro unattended for over 45 minutes or else it will freeze and I have to manually shut it down and turn back on.
— I had to deactivate my screen saver because every time it would kick in, the Mac Pro completely freezes up.
— I cannot put my Mac Pro to sleep overnight as it freezes when I try to wake it the next day.
— Backing up to my G-Drive is much, much slower than what it was during OS Sierra and, if I leave the room to let it back up, it freezes up and I have to manually shut it down and reboot/restart.
I really hope a newer, new Mac Pro 2018 comes out soon with, hopefully an OS pre-loaded that works just fine. Or, I hope Apple can fix these issues soon and a newer, new Mac Pro gets released soon in 2018.
Has 1.013.3 APFS for Fusion now?
I just updated my iMac fusion 21.5″ late 2013 to MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3. It’s still indicates that it is Journalled HFS+ when I look in the System Information pane under Storage. There was zero problem with the update, but it did take about 45 minutes and I did think it was hanging while it was ‘Calculating Time’. But it wasn’t. I was impatiently hanging!
