Apple CEO Tim Cook and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference with a keynote address today, June 5th, at 10am PDT/ 1pm EDT.

The WWDC 2017 keynote address will be held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California as Apple’s renowned developer community comes together to learn about the future of macOSX, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.

Apple today will stream the company’s WWDC Keynote live via Safari browser and Apple TV. Live streaming uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later, or a PC with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) with software 6.2 or later or an Apple TV (4th generation).

      1. A dock in the front with all my cables going to the external drives and whatnot in the back? I currently have a USB hub in the front for plugging in USB drives and such, but the other ports on the back are loaded with external drives and my keyboard/mouse cables so I don’t have to look at that mess. 4 USB (C or otherwise) is the minimum I would expect on a desktop.

      2. Yes there is, because ports on a hub are less stable than built in ports. I’ve got many devices that just don’t work on a hub, and need to be plugged directly into the computer.

        Thankfully it looks like they kept the 4 USB A ports. But I’ve got about 15 things to plug into them – it’s such a rats nest not being able to use internal drives.

    2. That’s what it says. Down from 4 USB3 and 2 Thunderbold 2 ports (6 total) to just 2 USB-C (TB3) ports. OMG. I guess they don’t plan on you every plugging anything into the iMac.

      I can only imagine the premium cost for the updated, if ever, MacPro trashcan. This iMac Pro cost will be pocket change by comparison.

With the rampant child obesity due to horrible nutrition (lot of it from school cafeterias), a normal, sane person would think a programme to improve children’s nutrition would be a good thing.

          I imagine, if it were thought up by Melania (or Laura), it would have been the best thing ever done for the American kids…

        4. The consequences of your foolish thinking are painfully obvious to anyone. American kids are among the fattest in the world, and are getting fatter and fatter. America is the ONLY developed country where life expectancy is actually DECREASING, due to obesity-related health problems.

          And because of misguided people who refuse to let government push programmes that improve children’s health, you have kids who are fatter than ever. Because no government is going to tell a 10-year old what he should eat, when he knows perfectly well what he likes best, and that’s what he will eat (pizza, chips, coca-cola, french fries, hot-dogs and burgers).

          Your ultimate freedom from government will ultimately kill you.

        5. Show me evidence that the Federal school lunch changes under Michelle Obama made any impact with childhood obesity and you might convince me.

          Have you ever tried the school lunches? Observed a school cafeteria? I have and most of the “healthy food” goes in the can. Kids end up spending the afternoon hungry.

          You can’t legislate good choices, for once it is legislated it is no longer a choice.

          The government never will be able to take the place of a loving mother and father teaching their children good principles.

    2. I have noticed an interesting thing over the past years. Americans have a very hard time boycotting anything and anyone when such boycott would inconvenience them. The French wine boycott from early 2003 comes to mind (when France refused to believe the fake “weapons of mass destruction” arguments for Iraq war). There was barely a dent in French wine sales in the US. There are numerous similar examples.

      In this particular case, one would expect that some of the more conservative Apple customers would consider such a boycott of Apple product after this announcement (Michelle Obama keynote speech at WWDC). In reality, though, such a boycott would be quite difficult to execute for most of those Apple users. It would require them to give up on their Apple hardware and switch to… what? Windows? Android?? Does anyone in the world really hate Obamas that much that they would purposely inflict upon themselves Windows or Android, just to make some political point?

      Stuck between a rock and a hard place….

        2. It’s done so my state doesn’t (didn’t) get to decide who the next pres. is. Pretty sane system if you ask me, everybody gets a voice, even a little sliver like Rhode Is.

A very simple, common sense argument, against that system is that a vote from a person who happens to live in Montana is worth same as three persons from New York, and that doesn’t sound fair. I really cannot understand under what logic is the opinion of a person living in Nebraska valuable more than that of a person living in California. People from sparsely populated states likely have similar concerns, but so do the people from densely populated ones. It must be extremely frustrating for 38 million of Californians to suffer through political governance they would never want, only because a million North Dakotans prefer it the other way.

          Anyway, this is a subject that comes up every time a US president is elected without getting the popular vote, and debate is always quite vocal. And not really relevant; it would take inordinate amount of legislative work to re-engineer the system, and it is quite clear that there will never be enough political will for such re-engineering.
