“Just five days ahead of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, where it is widely expected to announce new Macs, French website Consomac has discovered a new Russian-language regulatory filing, in the Eurasian Economic Commission database, that points towards at least five new models running macOS Sierra launching soon,” Tim Hardwick reports for MacRumors.
“The five new Macs, identified only with the model numbers A1289, A1347, A1418, A1419, and A1481, are likely to be new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros alongside a new 12-inch MacBook, with the outside chance of a new upgraded MacBook Air also in the frame,” Hardwick reports. “As well as spare parts for the Macs, the discovered numbers also include a possible new wireless keyboard (model A1843) and four numbers classified under iOS 10 (A1671, A1709, A1670, and A1701), pointing to the possible launch of a rumored new iPad Pro model. ”
“The new notebooks are likely to be announced at Apple’s June 5 WWDC keynote, which is set to kick off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time,” Hardwick reports. “Rumors also suggest Apple could use the event to introduce a new Siri smart speaker.”

and a sub $1000 price tag, the old airs already, the 12 inch should be the cheap entry version.
If i’m not mistaken the Airs are the only new products without Retina screens that they sell. I love my Air, but a Retina screen would make it perfect.
As someone who prefers a truck, not so exciting. As a stockholder, this is great news.
Steve Jobs always promised low and delivered high. That’s what created and maintained the Apple aura. Tim Cook seems to have adopted the opposite practice. Hence, I’ve developed a “I’ll believe it when I see it” attitude toward any new announcements.
Yippee, a new M processor for the uniport netbook. Let the rejoicing begin! /s
Meanwhile, this is the antique lineup Apple is attempting to sell at premium prices:
– Mac Pro: last horrid redesign Dec 2013, still sporting Thunderbolt 2 and two rockin’ GPUs that were outgunned 4 years ago
– Mac Mini: last neutering Oct 2014 – less user friendly, also sporting quaint Thunderbolt 2 connections but with really exciting Haswell processor and wimpy integrated GPU
– iMac: last modest refresh Oct 2015, the freshest desktop Apple offers.
– MacBook Air: adopted Broadwell in Mar 2015. Technologically, it is a dead computer walking except it’s the only affordable laptop Apple sells.
Is this a lineup to be proud of or what? Fire Cook and get someone who understands personal computer users.
I keep reading a headline that talks about new Macs, but it’s never about desktop Macs, it’s always about laptops. It’s well beyond time for Apple to show some love to the desktop users.
