Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ users suffer randomly restarting phones

“The mysterious reddish tint might not be the only issue Samsung is experiencing with its smash-hit Galaxy S8 flagship,” TNW reports. “Numerous users are reporting their all-new handsets are randomly restarting by themselves.”

“While it remains unclear what could be causing the glitch, it appears the issue persists in both the standard S8 and its slightly bigger S8+ sibling,” TNW reports. “Concerned owners have taken to Reddit, the XDA Developers forums as well as the Samsung US Community page to complain about the issue.”

TNW reports, “According to complaints from users, some handsets have restarted over five times within the first 10 hours of using the device.”

MacDailyNews Take: It’s amazing Samsung didn’t blame the users and insist everything is fine – like they did when their last disaster was burning up people’s nightstands, Jeeps, legs, hands, garages, homes, etc.

Just last year, Samsung had no clue why their phones explode, yet they shipped replacements anyway, assuring their customers they were safe. Anyone who goes back for more of that is stupider than a Samsung “quality control” tester.

Samsung is a shitty, thieving, inherently crooked company (right to the very top) that deserves every bit of karma it’s getting, is due to receive, and then some.

It’s best not to mess with karma. – Steve Jobs

  1. I have a galaxy s8+ and I have to say, it’s an incredible phone. I’ve owned just about every iPhone ever made and none are on parts with this device. Still love my MacBook pro and iPad pro, but Samsung has iPhone beat in this round of phone wars.

    1. I agree. Apple has some catching up to do. It’s unrealistic to expect Apple to “always” be in the lead, especially when Apple is using display technology and design similar to what they were using in 2014.

      Not to mention the desktops.

    2. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, 2Birds in Paradise, and I applaud you for being a registered user. But, if you are going to make a judgment on “this round of the phone wars” then you should note that the Apple iPhone 8 and 8+ will soon be released. We will then see who is actually on top.

Furthermore, in order to develop the Galaxy phone slavish copier Samsung stole years of work by Apple and also uses the Android operating system which, through Google, stole from Apple via Eric T. SchmidtMole. So i have great difficultly in given credit to Samsung for anything other than being thieving scum who have a penchant for incendiary products.

  2. “According to complaints from users, some handsets have restarted over five times within the first 10 hours of using the device.”

It’s a new Samsung feature. Samsung is just making sure you really want to use their device?

Start phone. Restart. Are you sure you want to get trapped, er, use the phone? Restart. Are you really, really sure? Restart. Why don’t you think about it for a minute. Restart…

  3. Ever since I updated to 10.x my iPhone reboots about ever 1 out of 20 times whenever Siri is invoked. I also can’t get rid of a cookie, which is apparently an issue for many iPhone users. Luckily, I don’t have the problem of not being able to delete certain Google cookies like many others. Will there be articles about how crappy iOS 10 is?

  4. Samsung living up to their reputation for low quality products.

My guess: The CPUs in their “smash-hit” Galaxy 8 gear are over-heating. Betcha! Random reboots are typical of that problem.

It’s so depressing, being a Samsung fanboi.

  5. My Apple Watch Series 2 restarts sometimes all of a sudden. It doesn’t happen often but like once a month.
And my iPhone 6 doesn’t just restart by itself but about once a week I need to reset it manually because something doesn’t work properly.

  6. Eh, I have a friend who works at Google and got issued a recent Android smartphone (I believe a Moto). He was complaining that the thing randomly restarts all the time, so this doesn’t sound particularly unusual. Nothing to see here.
