“Apple CEO Tim Cook met with Senator Orrin Hatch Friday, capping off the first full week of a new Washington, with President Donald Trump at the helm,” Hamza Shaban reports for BuzzFeed News.
“Sen. Hatch of Utah, who sits on the Judiciary Committee and the antitrust panel, also leads the Senate Republican High-Tech Task Force, whose mission is to help keep American tech at the leading edge of global markets,” Shaban reports. “‘During today’s meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook, we discussed ways to grow the economy and our tech industry, as well as his recent visit with me in Utah,’ Sen. Hatch said in an statement to BuzzFeed News. ‘Given the issues I work on as chairman of the Senate Republican High-Tech Task Force, it’s especially useful to listen to innovators like Tim.'”
“In the fall, Hatch hosted Cook at a tech conference in Utah, and the two appear to be friendly. Fellow Utah official Sean Reyes, the state’s attorney general, is a leading candidate to chair the Federal Trade Commission, one of two top antitrust posts in the federal government, according to three people with knowledge of Trump’s staffing decisions,” Shaban reports. “Cook also met with leadership of the Department of Veterans Affairs on Thursday to discuss promoting hiring, and other ways the company could help veterans, a person familiar with the meeting told BuzzFeed News.”

Funny how liberals whine and cry over the election. They can’t accept the fact that they lost. The electoral college is genius in that it dilutes the vote evenly as to not give one section/city the power to control the entire country. LOVE IT!

Appleman, Prsident Obama could never please the Republican Party. They had a policy of opposing and blocking anything and everything from the Obama Administrstion, even when he would propose items formerly supported by the GOP (even just the day prior). Obama did not have a chance against that hate and obstructionism. It was not something that could have been “learned.” It was all or nothing with the GOP, and surrendering unconditionally was not an option.
By the way, the GOP railed against Executive Orders for the past eight years (but nt in the Bush Administration). Now Trump starts out with a slew of ECs and all you hear are cheers. Damn hypocrites.

I think Cook knows that his days are numbered at Apple so he’s cuddling up to Washington for a future run of an office.
A house divided cannot stand. The arrogant, intolerant Dems will follow the pattern of the self interested republicans in a divisive obstructionistic policy, to see America fail will please them to no end. Cutting of your nose to spite your face is the new America. Usama bin Laden is laughing in his grave. Mission accomplished for him.
There was a time when America used to pass laws by making a compromise between the two parties. Often times, way back, these laws were largely bi-partisan (with the usual exception of the extreme blocks in the two parties). The point was that the laws reflected the interests of largest block of constituents.
Today, America is sharply divided in two blocks. Whichever block is in power will, upon taking power, rush to undo any legislation enacted by the other side, and enact legislation with zero support form the other side. What’s worse, in the process of preparing legislation, zero effort is made to take the other side into consideration. If one party controls both houses, they will plow ahead with no regard for anyone else.
And what’s probably the worst, the publicly declared effort to make the only goal during the term in office the obstruction of the party in power (McConnell: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”).
