Apple releases macOS Sierra 10.12.4 beta 1 with Night Shift for Mac, other new features

“Apple has just released beta 1 of macOS Sierra 10.12.4 and it comes with one particular headline feature, it brings the same Night Shift feature seen on iOS to the Mac for the first time,” Benjamin Mayo reports for 9to5Mac.

Mayo reports, “Along with Night Shift, macOS 10.12.4 also includes Shanghainese dictation support, Siri cricket scores and more.”

  1. Nice!!! For home use, shifting the white point in evenings is highly recommended. Wonder what took Apple so long to add this feature to the Mac. Hope it is more easy to control than Flux.

    1. Apple obviously geared more towards average consumer than pros, I sure hope it’s not on by default, it would be one hell of a nightmare to have my clients commenting my retouched picture colors based on a gradually shifting hue…

  2. I’ve been using Flux for sometime now. It Flux works great for night time dimming and if I need to turn it off to see true colors, I turn it off for an hour. I’m willing to bet Apple’s implementation of this will work similarly. I look forward to it!
