Social media users mock beleaguered Samsung’s explosive phones

“News that Samsung has axed its flagship Galaxy Note 7 smartphone due to safety concerns has sparked a wave of hilarious memes on social media,” Sarah Dean reports for The Daily Mail.

MacDailyNews Take: Get it? “Sparked.” (smirk)

“The decision to permanently discontinue the product, which was meant to be Samsung’s rival to Apple’s iPhone, is forecast to cost the company $17 billion in lost sales,” Dean reports. “Twitter user Stilgherrian posted a photo of a young girl in front of a house burning down with the caption: ‘Samsung shareholders meeting.'”

“Russian Market shared a gif of a man lighting his cigar from a fire in his lap, with the comment: ‘Reading Twitter on your Samsung phone,'” Dean reports. “Another image joked there would be a ‘fire sale’ with the offer of ‘buy one get 2.5 million free.'”

  1. Seems to me SamSplode losing $17 billion goes way beyond any award Apple could have gotten from them for infringements. Who knew in the end Scamsham would be self-thermonuclearizing?

I don’t know if you can find a better example of karma meting out richly deserved justice.

    1. The first time those students try to take an airline flight, they’ll realise that they will have to throw those phones away before boarding the flight (or cancel the travel plans, if they are hell-bent on keeping their phones).

  2. As for arrogance of the fandroid legion, this is well deserved. I’ll reluctantly use a word* the originated amongst the fandroid base…., seems all the Scamscum fan base is in the midst of a major butthurt* 😜

  3. In the original article, I _love_ the image of how to put the Samsung phone into airplane mode (a fireproof box), and the comment that it’s good this phone is water resistant, because that’s the only safe way to use it, underwater! Brilliant!

I think Steve has engineered a coup and overthrown God. Steve is now in charge. He is going thermonuclear on Samsung the only way he could from beyond the grave.
