“Belkin’s new adapter will split your iPhone’s Lightning port into two, allowing you to continue listening with your Lightning headphones while charging your iPhone simultaneously,” Kahn writes. “In my tests, the Belkin adapter didn’t noticeably change the audio quality of Apple’s Lightning EarPods versus going directly into the iPhone.”
“You can alternatively use the adapter with a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, like the one that Apple includes in the box with iPhone 7,” Kahn writes. “That will allow you to charge your iPhone 7 using one of the Lightning inputs, and use your old 3.5mm headphones with the other adapter into the other input.”

Will this allow user to split audio as well?
Sadly no.
$40 to do something as simple as listen and charge at the same time.
Seems like Apple keeps removing connector options and increase the number of dongles we need.
I still find a single USB C port on a laptop is crazy. Can’t charge and connect an external drive at the same time. But we have a dongle you can buy for this and another dongle you can buy for that. Gee, my laptop is so slim, but my lapse has five dongles in it.
With respect, the iPhone 7+ has an audio playback time of 60 hours.
I think they thought this through.
Guess so. Sure beats my 6 Plus.
Should have come free with the iPhone itself in the first place.
