    1. Frustrating. But:
You can get a new iPhone on the upgrade program, but perhaps not immediately. You may have to wait a few weeks like the rest of us, depending on which model you want. And:
Why would you even consider making an “as soon as you can” type over-the-air OS upgrade of this magnitude when not near your computer? Glitches happen, even to Apple. Either wait a day or two to let the kinks get worked out, or at least be near your computer so you can plug into iTunes. According to Apple, plugging in to iTunes fixes the problem.
As I said up front, it’s frustrating. But it’s not a perfect world.

  1. I never, ever update to the latest OS version until at least two point fixes have been released. There will always be bugs and glitches that need ironing out. Even going from iOS 9.2 to 9.3 I wait at least a week to make sure there isn’t a serious bug in there.
Having said that I broke my cardinal rule and instead of waiting till after the holidays to order my new iPhone I ordered it straight away. The reason? Optical Image Stabilisation, I have a condition that makes it difficult to hold the phone and take pictures or movies without shaking a bit, OIS should fix that 🙂
