“Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster and Douglas Clinton are out with data Monday from a new survey of iPhone users, which they say is reason to be optimistic about the Apple iPhone 7 launch,” Teresa Rivas reports for Barron’s.
“They surveyed 400 users in the U.S. and found that demand was in line with expectations—i.e. that 15% expect to upgrade to the new model this fall and 29% considering upgrading,” Rivas reports. “Approximately two-thirds of iPhone users in the U.S. now fall into the typical two-year carrier upgrade window.”
Rivas reports, “Munster writes that that puts the iPhone 7 cycle ‘flattish’ compared to the iPhone 6 cycle two years ago, implying 12% year over year growth from the 6s.”
