“It is now possible to get money out from a bank account via Apple Pay, as Bank of America has started to roll out ATMs capable of using Apple Pay for transactions in a limited number of markets,” MacNN reports.
“The first ATMs that are compatible with Apple Pay for withdrawals have been spotted in California, expanding a recent pilot program consisting of two ATMs based in the Bay Area of San Francisco into other markets,” MacNN reports. “An ATM located in Redondo Beach, California that has an NFC reader next to the card slot on the right-hand side of the main display.”
MacNN reports, “Transactions also appear in Apple Wallet, as well as with the usual receipt.”

We are moving closer and closer to the cashless society and one wonders when vending machines will use Apple Pay.
Finally, could there be a time ( not now ) when Apple might cut out the middleman and offer transaction accounts directly ( do not call it banking ) to replace checking.
I’ve seen many machines that use credit cards, so not that far away I think.
I’ve already used vending machines that support Apple Pay. Fantastic. Especially since I absolutely never carry money anymore and had my hands full with kids and what not. Told my daughter to pick what she wanted as I held my iPhone to the machine while looking opposite way and helping my younger daughter into a stroller. So unbelievably convenient.
The war on cash is real. Be careful what you wish for. Once paper currencies are gone, governments and banks will be free to introduce whatever draconian measures they’ve been willing, but unable to foist upon the people in a cash society. I’d imagine the first of many will be the “digital transaction tax”.
So true. As of now you can sell your SUV for $12,000 or even have a small account on Craigslist making pin money and the tax man doesn’t have to know a thing about it. In a cashless society that money goes into your bank account and the tax man says “Thank you very much. I’ll have 10% of that”
There are few companies more worthy of boycotting than corrupt B of A. What a disgrace this company is.
