“Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook and his team will hold discussions with top telcos for forging partnerships for the distribution and sale of devices besides meeting business leaders and politicians,” The Economic Times reports.
“The Apple brass believes India’s widening 4G network will not only boost iPhone sales as more subscribers get on board, but also that of iPads and Apple TV,” The Economic Times reports. “Cook has said the advent of high-speed 4G networks in India will expand the market for iPhones, flagging elsewhere, making it a key market for the company.”
“Bharti Airtel is India’s biggest mobile operator and Reliance Jio Infocomm is planning to start nationwide commercial 4G services this year, making them key to Apple’s iPhone strategy,” The Economic Times reports. “Cook will also meet Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry, Vodafone India CEO Sunil Sood and Tata Consultancy Services CEO NChandrasekaran. Cook is also likely to meet Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
