Taylor Swift’s Apple Music commercial spurred 431% jump in sales for Drake

“Last week, Taylor Swift released a minute-long clip she filmed for Apple Music that featured her working out and listening to a playlist dedicated to exercise, with Drake and Future’s ‘Jumpman,'” Hugh McIntyre reports for Forbes. “”

“Anything with the pop star in it is sure to grab eyeballs, but what made this minute-long segment especially entertaining was both her rapping along to the hip-hop lyrics, and her losing focus and falling flat on her face on the treadmill, as we all have probably done at least once in our lives,” McIntyre reports. “Since then, the song has been enjoying incredible gains in both sales and streams, and Swift is yet again in the spotlight (as if she ever really left).”

“Just a few days after Taylor’s trip-and-fall gag hit the web, sales of the song on iTunes have jumped an incredible 431% around the world,” McIntyre reports. “The commercial, which Swift premiered on her social channels but which has since all but taken over the internet in meme form, is just the first to come from the powerhouse pairing. Apparently, the company has several more spots featuring the country-turned-pop singer, and they aren’t sticking to digital formats, but rather heading to traditional TV as well.”

    1. Not everyone streams. I’ll stick to buying my music and subscribing to iTunes Match as long as it is offered. 70+ gigs of music meticulously added to iTunes/playlists and available on all my devices without delay. And not a single song from Drake to be found.
