Apple TV to stream March Madness – in split-screen, too

“College basketball fans will have a new way to experience March Madness — on Apple TV,” Dawn Chmielewski reports for Re/code.

“When the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship begins March 15, fans will be able to watch two games side by side through a new split-screen feature available exclusively through Apple TV,” Chmielewski reports. “The NCAA March Madness Live streaming app will be available Thursday.”

Chmielewski reports, “Since it’s developed in partnership with Turner Sports and CBS Sports, you’ll need to go through a registration process to prove you’re already a pay TV subscriber before you can use the app.”

    1. Apple did not spend money on this. Clearly the blurb above says the app was “developed in partnership with Turner Sports and CBS Sports”. Meaning Apple had nothing to do with it. The only thing Apple noteworthy is that the AppleTV hardware can support the dual side-by-side viewing of game feeds, which is pretty dang cool to me.
