“Apple is widely expected to unveil both a new 4-inch iPhone and new 9.7-inch iPad at a media event next month, but a new report claims the keynote presentation may have been delayed by a week, until Tuesday, March 22,” AppleInsider reports.
“Citing an unnamed source, South Korean website UnderKG reported this week that Apple employees have been asked to keep the days around March 22 free, presumably for an upcoming event,” AppleInsider reports. “If true, that would be seven days later than was previously rumored.”
“Production of the next-gen 4-inch iPhone is said to be underway ahead of an anticipated March announcement,” AppleInsider reports. “The device is said to boast a metal-backed, curved-edge design similar to the current iPhone 6s with refreshed internals like an A9 processor and NFC support for Apple Pay.”

MacDailyNews Take: Might make sense in order for the current FBI uproar to recede a bit, so that the new product news isn’t overshadowed completely.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Dan K.” for the heads up.]
Unless the event is officially announced, it’s not “pushed back”.
A rumor of a product released pushed back by another rumor. That sounds like something the government would think of. Oh wait, is that a paraphrase of what comey said to congress. Add a d to comey and what so you get. Ok, remove the y and replace it with another m and a i. Enough of that.
Also good to have enough time to create enough product for the usual huge expected demand.
Mar 22 will be the day the new products will go on sale. It will be “All hands on deck” at Apple Stores.
Just please don’t call it the 5se.
