“Pope Francis had a meeting Friday with Apple CEO Tim Cook,” Daniel White reports for TIME Magazine.
“Neither party has disclosed what was discussed, but afterward, the Pope spoke about technology and social media, calling modern forms of communicating ‘a gift of God,’ according to Reuters,” White reports. “Pope Francis, 79, delivered the message for the Roman Catholic Church’s World Day of Communications.”
This is Pope Francis’ “second meeting in a week with a tech industry heavyweight — he sat down with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt last week,” White reports. “Cook — or ‘Signor Timothy Donald Cook, Amministratore Delegato di Apple’ — met with the Pope in Rome, according to the Pontiff’s daily schedule posted to Twitter.”

Pope shmoope! I’m always amazed at the positive spin the media puts on celebrities’ audiences with satan’s earthly emissary.
Satan’s earthly emissary? Sorry, not this Pope.
Some, even many, Popes have been bad in the past. And the Catholic Church is certainly guilty of many things. Personally, I am thoroughly disgusted with pederasty.
But these are perhaps human frailties and deficiencies, rather than prerequisites for the position.
This pope, Pope Francis, appears to be the real deal. He told Catholics they do not need to breed like rabbits. He told church members not to be fixated on sexuality issues. He seems quite compassionate about helping the world’s poor. He believes it is our collective responsibility to take care of God’s good world.
I do think Pope Francis believes the spark of the divine is in each of us.
Was that “pederasty” note a reference to Catholics or to Tim Cook?
what a sad, misguided person you are. Your mind is closed to reality.
Perhaps the vatican is planning on replacing their bibles with iPads :3
My son. My lost son. We must learn the true meaning of ‘fudge’. And we must not turn away from the real meaning of ‘packer’.
My son. Thee must pack not that which is of the chute and is of color and texture of ‘fudge’. No, my lost lamb. No.
Now, go ye unto thy world and do that which is good, not that which is doodoo.
In His name, we pray.
LOL!
Seriously…you think this funny? What are you 10?
Dude, seriously?
While I agree this Francis guy lets his constituents down meeting with guy like Cook without admonishing him, as much as Obama does with his when he pushes Marxism down our throats and makes deals with terrorist nations, the way you made the point was no more Christian than this guy Francis.
While I do not personally engage in organized religion, I really like Pope Francis. He literally practices what he preaches. He is humble and truly believes in the responsibility of the church to serve all people, with special attention to the poor and downtrodden. What is there not to like about him? He represents the most noble and ideal aspects of a religion founded on the basis of love and brotherhood. I can certainly respect that, even if I do not share the rest of his faith.
Comments from the likes of j.eric and X are not worth the time it takes to read them. And one does not take offense from the words of children, even if they are technically adults.
Pope’s first question to Tim, ” You must know that iTunes is really blotted and confusing, When do you plan to fix this damn thing!”
Something got lost in that translation; there is no way Pope would have used the world damn; More likely, blessed…
It wasn’t so much a “gift” as it was all the hard work from the employees at Apple.
Funny, Samsung said the same thing. 😉
Another report I read pointed out that Pope Francis has very little experience with computers and no experience on the Internet. IOW, he’s being very optimistic if not naive.
