Analyst: Apple’s ‘iPhone 7 Plus’ to feature 3GB of RAM, Apple ‘A10’ SoC

“Apple’s next-generation plus-sized iPhone model will feature even more RAM, reaching 3 gigabytes in total embedded into a next-generation ‘A10’ processor, according to well-connected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo,” Neil Hughes reports for AppleInsider.

“Kuo’s latest details from Apple suppliers were published in a research note Tuesday evening with KGI Securities, a copy of which was obtained by AppleInsider,” Hughes reports. “In it, he revealed that while the 4.7-inch ‘iPhone 7’ is expected to have the same 2 gigabytes of RAM as the iPhone 6s, the larger ‘iPhone 7 Plus’ will add another gigabyte for even greater performance.”

Hughes reports, “Despite the anticipated RAM difference, both phones are expected to run a next-generation mobile processor architecture from Apple, likely to be known as the ‘A10’ CPU.”

  1. I am not buying unless it has 4GB RAM, 6 Cores, and mobile projector. Apple can’t seem to get their act together. Whatever happened to the tear shaped iPhone case? That come this time, because I was all over that before the iPhone 5 came out. Also I want edge to edge screen.

    These guys are holding back.

      1. He’s talking about the iPhone that would have been the iPhone 5 if they could have got all their ducks in a row. Instead they released the iPhone 4S and spent another year developing the 5. It would have likely been AS thick as the iPhone 4 on one end and thinner on the other.

Rumour had it that it was like a wedge like the Air. It was to be the final “Steve Jobs phone” and maybe would have happened if he was feeling 100%. Maybe not, who knows. Instead his final phone was the iPhone 4 + Siri.

  2. I’m not into yearly phone upgrades. I was on a perfect track of the latest and greatest non s models 2 year upgrades. I’m patient. Can’t wait to see what they got in store for the 7. Rumors will flow. Apple us better then that. Redemption time

    1. I much prefer the opposite cycle. The ‘S’ phones have just as much technology innovation as the non-‘S’ models, but by the time ‘S’ is released, there are zillions of cheap and attractive cases and accessories for that size.
