“You’ll soon be able to use Apple Pay in a lot more retailers, starting with Best Buy.,” Ian Kar reports for Quartz.
“The 12th-largest retailer confirmed to Quartz it is testing ‘NFC payments,’ which is the underlying technology behind mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Android Pay,” Kar reports. “Both payment systems are still scheduled to roll out to every store by the end of the year.”
“One of the biggest issues for mobile payments has been the lack of adoption by retailers,” Kar reports. “There will be approximately 1.5 million stores where NFC technology will be supported by the end of 2015, but the technology needs to be ubiquitous in order for customers to use it regularly.”

In the UK I’ve used ApplePay in loads of shops where the staff have never heard of it. The 20 year old barman tonight was lost for words!
I’ve been using it with Apple Watch this week. Seems even faster than with my iPhone.
Now that Discover card is offering 10% cashback on in-store ApplePay transactions, it will be well worth my effort to walk a little out of my way for Walgreens/Duane Reade instead of CVS (or Rite-Aid).
It may well motivate many others to more aggressively explore ApplePay.
Before you go blowing a lot of money expecting 10% cash back from Discover, you might want to read the promotion a little closer. It’s an EXTRA 10% cash back for using Discover on ApplePay. Meaning that instead of 3% at some stores, it will be 3.3%. Instead of 2% at gas stations and grocery stores, it will be 2.2% and instead of 1% everywhere else, it will be 1.1%.
Actually, no. If you check tihe site, you’ll see that this is in addition to the standard cash back. In other words, if you are signed up for 5% cash back on home improvement and department stores from October to December, for example, you will get essentially 15% cash back for everything you buy in Macy’s or Home Depot.
There are other credit cards that do what you say (which is somewhat disingenuous). This particular Discover promo is very generous, as it does exactly what the offer implies – 10% cash back promo.

Did he have to enter his PIN with ApplePay in the video?
Just used my Apple Pay at the local Rite Aid. You need to choose “credit” as opposed to “debit” at the terminal if your using your debit card as payment. We also have a brand new CVS up the street that I won’t be using.
Are you guys able to add discover to your Apple Watch?
It’s working fine iPhone but when I try to add it to the watch, it says it needs to be updated to the latest OS which is the delayed watchOS2.
