Apple aims to boost enterprise iPad and iPhone sales with new Cisco partnership

“Apple is leaning on Cisco Systems’ Internet networking expertise in its latest attempt to sell more iPhones and iPads to corporate customers,” Michael Liedtke reports for The Associated Press.

“The alliance announced Monday calls for Cisco to ensure that corporate Internet connections relying on its gear deliver content quickly and securely to iPhones and iPads. Cisco will also help Apple develop ways for iPhones to interact more smoothly with workers’ office phones,” Liedtke reports. “This is the second time in two years that Apple has teamed up with a major technology company that focuses on business customers. Apple joined forces with IBM Corp. 13 months ago to build and sell business applications for the iPhone and iPad.”

“Apple Inc. is hoping to spur more sales of the iPad by making the tablet more useful for businesses,” Liedtke reports. “The Cupertino, California, company also wants to expand the appeal of the iPhone, its biggest moneymaker.”

  1. It seems really strange to me how the reporter prattles on about Apple merely wanting more sales. Hey Michael, did it ever occur to you that Apple simply want their devices to work better?

  2. I understand that this partnership is ment to improve the way iDevices work in enterprise networks and also bring collaboration tools like webex to work seamlesly on Apple devices.
However I’m hoping they also bring Mac OS X tho the Cisco UCS Servers
Also, cisco could get some help from Ive in their IP phone designs
