Suntrust ups Analog Devices to ‘buy’ on Apple’s Force Touch propagation

“Shares of Analog Devices (ADI) are up 66 cents, or 1%, at $58.51, after the company yesterday afternoon reported better-than-expected fiscal Q3 results, and forecast this quarter substantially higher as well,” Tiernan Ray reports for Barron’s.

“As price targets rise today, some substantial part of the focus is on the prospect for the company’s controller chip that makes possible the ‘Force Touch’ capability in Apple’s Macs, Apple Watch, and soon, it’s believed, the iPhone,” Ray reports.

“The stock has gotten one upgrade today,” Ray reports, “from William Stein of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, who raises the stock to Buy from Neutral, and raises his price target to $71 from $68, based pretty much exclusively on the promise of riding Apple’s coat-tails… ‘We anticipate Apple will deploy Force Touch throughout its mobile devices that will afford ADI incremental opportunities for additional print position over time.'”
