What’s in store for Apple’s special media event in October?

“The soon to be announced Apple special event in September is most likely to be occupied with a recap of Apple Watch, Apple Pay (read relaunch and resell) and the introduction of the iPhone 6S C, 6S and 6S Plus,” E. Werner Reschke writes for T-GAAP.

“September is also likely to see the release of iOS 9 (at the same time as the iPhone 6S series), and OS X El Capitan (version 10.11) or at the very least a firm date on when they will be released,” Reschke writes. “With the big known quantities out of the way, what could be in store for October’s special event?”

“The biggie on people’s minds is the next generation Apple TV,” Reschke writes. “Unless Apple has something ‘different’ up its sleeve that no one knows about, the fourth, and long-awaited, generation of Apple TV should make its way to center stage this October just in time for the Christmas season.”

MacDailyNews Take: Here’s hoping the ink will be on the Internet TV service contracts and that there will be an Apple TV SDK for third-party developers to create Apple TV apps and an Apple TV App Store in which to distribute them!

  1. These obligatory rumors spiked with emotion and delusion are getting old. Just let it happen. Invariably something new will be revealed, something expected will not occur, and something utterly predictable will be presented. Nothing you or I can do to change the inevitability of it all.

    1. Yeah I agree. The magic and mystery has disappeared with all the leaks of what’s happening. I know…. You’ll all say “well stop following news sites like this!” Well it’s not just here, it’s Engadget, T3, BGR, wired, Fortune, WSJ, every newspaper, every single online blog that wants their share of hits. You’d practically have to ignore going online to avoid seeing any kind of hint or tip. I understand that online outlets need some clicks to support themselves, and they do that by flashing “exclusive reveal!”…. It’s just a shame it’s unavoidable.
Or has anyone really honestly avoided such an avalanche of predictions?

      1. And just to be clear, whilst I might have the willpower to avoid clicking into those articles, it’s abit harder to avoid the catchy headlines: “iPhone 7 new form factor revealed”… “This is why Force Touch will change the way you use iPhone”… “13Mpixel camera confirmed”… “Many Bothans died to let us know the new Apple TV has its own App Store!” Etc etc

    1. Fuuuuuuuuu…. That’s right.. Samsung has a boatload of products they themselves could integrate into an IOT. Too bad they run a terrible OS and that’s something they can’t fix. Even Alphabet (formerly Google) is distancing itself from Android lol

    1. The point of two events is the september event could be just an UPDATE of phones
the October event could be the introduction of a game-changer although it is an update – i.e. the non-hobbyist Apple TV.
