Apple’s Force Touch iPhone 6s to be major differentiator, put rivals at further disadvantage

“While Force Touch sounds like something a frisky Luke Skywalker might try on a date, it’s actually a new Apple technology that could revolutionize how people interact with their iPhones,” Daniel B. Kline writes for The Motley Fool.

“While facing increasing competition at the top of the smartphone market, as well as at the bottom from cheaper but high-functioning phones, Apple has continued to push innovations forward to make the iPhone stand out,” Kline writes. “Products and services such as Apple Music and Apple Pay accomplish some of that, but Force Touch has the potential to be a major differentiator.”

“Force Touch has the potential to give the iPhone a unique feature that its rivals do not have. Siri was that for a time, and it sparked renewed interest in the iPhone, reminding people of the advantage of being with Apple,” Kline writes. “This latest move could make iPhones more useful while also being pretty cool, and that could help Apple sell a lot of phones.”

  1. Features that competitors can’t match I think is the Holy Grail of market share win and investor smug soul-satisfying situation.

    Wasn’t it only a few year ago people were essentially using that old turn-of-the-century patent quote against Apple as in “Everything that COULD be invented for the iPhone, HAS been invented.” Sorry, WRONG.
