Only 376,000 of 1.7 million U.S. Apple Watch preorders were delivered this weekend

“Most people who pre-ordered an Apple Watch did not receive one in the first wave of shipments, with Slice Intelligence reporting that only 376,000 of the 1.7 million Apple Watches ordered were delivered to U.S. consumers this weekend,” Jaimee Minney reports for Slice Intelligence.

“A remaining 547,000 watches are expected to ship between April 27 and June 11; and 639,000 people will continue watch their email for word of when an additional 647,000 Apple Watches will start hitting doorsteps across the U.S., according to shipping notifications sent to Slice Intelligence’s panel of 2 million online consumers,” Minney reports.

With a panel of more than 2 million online shoppers, Slice Intelligence offers the most detailed and precise digital commerce data available, reported daily.

Slice Intelligence is the only service to measure digital commerce directly from the consumer, across all retailers, at the item level, over time. This retailer-independent methodology accurately measures commerce as it happens. By extracting detailed information from hundreds of millions of aggregated and anonymized ereceipts, Slice can map the entire Purchase Graph, connecting each and every consumer to all their purchases.

Slice gets its data from e-receipts – not a browser, app or software installed by the end-user – so its measurement reflects comprehensive shopping behavior across multiple devices, over time, from a representative sample of online consumers. Slice Intelligence correlates to the U.S. Department of Commerce as well as public filings of leading ecommerce companies.

  1. My 42mm stainless steel WATCH w/ black sport band finally changed status this morning to “Preparing for Shipment”. Verified that credit card used for purchase was also dinged as well.

I don’t see any reason to be holding the next wave of shipments so they arrive on a particular day … as “Launch Day” has already come and gone … so hopefully this goes out today from a domestic distribution center and gets delivered within a couple of days.
