Amazon and Best Buy slash prices on Moto 360 stupidwatch

“On Apple’s big day, you can get a Moto 360 for $179 — in case you’re into that sort of thing,” Harrison Weber reports for VentureBeat.

MacDailyNews Take: So, who’s into failures by no-name “designers” that are the exactly the wrong shape and offer no ecosystem of which to speak?

“Motorola’s flagship smartwatch, the Moto 360, received a significant price cut today on Amazon and Best Buy — the same day hordes of Apple fans rushed to preorder the coveted Apple Watch,” Weber reports. “The higher-end Moto 360 got a comparable price cut, too. The all-metal version now costs between $220 and $229 (depending on where you buy), down 23 to 26 percent from the $299 launch price.”

      1. Hey trolls, NOTHING WILL HELP YOU

Apple’s loyal fans guarantee instant purchase oftheir products by Millions of happy datissfied lustingcustomers worldwide.

No Apple product can fail unless Apple screws up royally like Samscum and theor stelar track record say that ain’t happening dummies…😄😄😄😄😝

      2. Yes, please investigate. There is something very fishy going on with MDN ratings lately.

And banish any perpetrators while you are at it, MDN.

      3. My son, trolldude has been grounded for a week and is sneaking out to an internet cafe to use a secret trick to down vote all his nemesis’s. He needs to be banned from the internet altogether but alas, it is nearly impossible to do. He can’t post on this site but uses a trick that I know about to cause what little grief he can. I apologize for my pathetic son.

      1. the trolls are desperate giving one stars everywhere there is positive news on Apple.

Trolls: hey get it: apple is going to dominate ‘wearable tech’ just like the do with smart phones (iPhone takes 90% of the world’s phone profits). Because they make so much money no company can outspend it in R&D, supply chain (buying up RAM) etc . so no other company can beat it.

… hey I guess that’s why the desperate trolls are out in force!

  2. At some point, sooner than later, MDN should learn manners. Juvenile jabs at companies for their non-Apple products isn’t very honorable.

Better to treat them as worthy competitors, whose products just don’t match the Watch.

People who delight at calling others stupid – or their products stupid – are revealing their own self-image. We attack others with our own fears.

    1. Hmm… Maybe your right, maybe it’s time our long-loved MDN takes the tone to a more conservative key and…. Nah, fsck Samscum and their stupid watches, and all those other frangmandroid settler poor-house compatible watches.

    2. No no no MaxBay! The art of Troll Trampling is to turn the tables on them and rant back at them in their own language, the one they understand. LAUGHTER is what makes Troll Trampling fun. It makes the trampler happy. It makes the troll miserable. That’s the whole idea.

As for ‘worthy competitors’: NAME THEM please. If you’re talking about considering crudware and crapware vendors as actual ‘competitors’, you’re missing the point. Ridicule is what foisters of crud and crap are going to get.

But point me at a REAL competitor and I’ll THANK THEM. Every company requires competition, including Apple. As I often blether: Competition is the father of innovation. Bring it on! I’ve got endless superlatives to offer the creative! That’s one reason I hang around here and praise Apple! (When they’re creative, that is).

      1. Agreed! Apple needs a worthy competitor. Samsung is NOT a competitor. Getting away with stealing designs, blatant copying, and cheap knockoffs is not competition, it’s theft. I wish Apple had a competitor that offered something truly innovative and different that made Apple continue to think differently (although, Apple has no problem doing this without a competitor).

    3. Respect? Let’s see, google stole an iOS from Apple, samdung stole the looks and feel and all sorts of patents, Moto wants to have their watch out first but had to lower the price 25% today. Bad day to be a Apple troll.

  3. Now sitting in the FAIL Museum next to the Zune, Kin, Surface RT, Blackberry PlayBook, MSN Direct Smart Watch, Google Glass, HP TouchPad, Motorola ROKR, HTC First, Samsung Q1, Google Nexus Q, Sony Tablet P, Dell Streak…

    :-Q*****

  4. We should stop calling the Motorola 360 a “stupidwatch.” It isn’t nice to call things names. It infers that you think the company which Google bought for billions of dollars and continues to crank out loser after loser is somehow, by association, stupid also. This is just mean. Obviously correct on the most cursory observation, but mean nonetheless.

    1. It’s hard to call the Moto 360 a “smart”watch when its visual design is so conspicuously flawed.

The “driver notch” blank area at the bottom of the watch’s display is a compromise between esthetics and function. It is not something that Tag Heuer would ever let out of the lab. It is not something that Apple, even without Steve Jobs and his “back of the drawer” sensibility, would ever consider. But it is something that Google subsidiary Motorola would release, seeing it as an acceptable tradeoff between elegance and stealing a match by releasing their product ahead of Apple’s.

      BTW S/B “implies” not “infers”
