“As an object, it makes sense that the Watch is not nearly as cold and minimal as Apple’s recent phones and tablets and laptops. It has to be warmer, cozier. It has to invite you to touch it and take it with you all the time. Take the bands off and it’s a little miracle of technology and engineering and manufacturing, a dense package containing more sensors and processing power than anyone could have even dreamed a few decades ago,” Nilay Patel writes for The Verge. “It’s a supercomputer on your wrist, but it’s also a bulbous, friendly little thing, far more round than I expected, recalling nothing quite so much as the first-generation iPhone. It is unbelievably high tech and a little bit silly, a masterpiece of engineering with a Mickey Mouse face. It is quintessentially Apple.”
“There’s no question that the Apple Watch is the most capable smartwatch available today. It is one of the most ambitious products I’ve ever seen; it wants to do and change so much about how we interact with technology,” Patel writes. “But that ambition robs it of focus: it can do tiny bits of everything, instead of a few things extraordinarily well. For all of its technological marvel, the Apple Watch is still a smartwatch, and it’s not clear that anyone’s yet figured out what smartwatches are actually for.”
“If you are willing to go along on that journey, then you’ll enjoy the Apple Watch. It is a bauble, after all, and baubles delight simply by their presence. Apple will update the software, and developers will make apps,” Patel writes. “If you’re going to buy an Apple Watch, I’d recommend buying a Sport model; I wouldn’t spend money on how it looks until Apple completes the task of figuring out what it does.”

Wouldn’t call this one “superlative.” Even the bit quoted here is mixed: “I wouldn’t spend money on how it looks until Apple completes the task of figuring out what it does.”

Which was the reviewer’s argument for buying the Sport version rather than one of the others.
Not an argument for not getting one.
This review, while overall highly positive, begins by stating that the Apple Watch is slow: slow to sync with the iPhone, slow to load apps. Apple says it’s going to fix this, and I know they will, but they will get hammered for this. It’s just too easy a criticism for those looking to criticize.

Eventually there will be enough to go around. In the near term, I would bet against you. Care to wager?
Im not sure what things it does it doesn’t do very well and as a 1st generation product it seems that it will do them better than could really be expected. A lot of making do things extraordinarily well as he puts it will be down to all the technology being available in the greater environment to bring out the best in it while it endlessly expands its own capabilities. This includes all the buying, key replacing opportunities, health support, authorisation and technology control potential it has being properly supported by others. Then already it will do an awful lot wonderfully well. Until then Apple is laying down a marker for others to reach out to.
MDN has done a great job of so quickly rounding up these six major reviews of Apple Watch! All of them are exuberant. Reading them one after another is like riding a wave. Now I am looking forward to the backwash, the FUD, that always seems to follow something new. It may take a while for iDeniers to come up with a believable blot or stain on this latest marvel. however they have creativity and fierce sense of purpose. Maybe this time it will coalesce into Snobgate.
