Apple+IBM add 8 powerful new MobileFirst enterprise apps for iPad and iPhone

“Through its MobileFirst for iOS initiative, Apple and IBM have added 8 new enterprise apps for designed exclusively for iPhone and iPad,” Zac Hall reports for 9to5Mac.

“The latest apps developed as part of the partnership between the two companies include two new industries: healthcare and industrial products,” Hall reports. “The 8 new apps brings the total of MobileFirst for iOS apps to 22, while the two new industries now totals 10 including banks, law enforcement, travel, and retail.”

The 8 new enterprise apps and two new industries join the three IBM MobileFirst for iOS apps that launched early last month during Mobile World Congress and the first set of enterprise apps unveiled late last year,” Hall reports. “Those industries now include healthcare, industrial products, banking and financial markets, travel and transportation, retail, insurance, energy and utilities, telco, law enforcement, and social programs.”

  1. the pundits all say that iPad is just for consumption of YouTube videos and can’t do ‘real work’. How can IBM and Apple have done this when it is impossible according to all those in ‘internet land’ who know so much more than these two companies?
