The first image in the Elle shoot is the only one that really works, in my opinion. It’s also the first style shot I’ve seen of the 38″.
All three pics are of the rubber bands. The snappy dresses cry out for one of the classy leather or metal bands, I think.

Women are going to buy a lot of these watches.
It was always obvious to me that women would be more attracted to the Apple Watch. Women are more likely than men to be wearing clothes with no pockets, so the iPhone more often needs to be carried in a bag. An Apple Watch very neatly allows women to leave the iPhone in their bag for most of the time, while at the same time keeping them better informed about calls and alerts.
Your logic seems sound to me.
