Apple’s latest iOS 8.3 beta delivers wireless CarPlay, China Apple Pay, and more

On Monday, “Apple seeded the first iOS 8.3 build to developers alongside Xcode 6.3 beta with Swift 1.2,” MArk Gurman reports for 9to5Mac. “Readers have discovered that the new operating system brings a new wireless CarPlay feature to the iPhone.”

“As we first reported last year, the iOS 8.3 code indicates that Apple Pay is coming to China via Union Pay,” Gurman reports. “The new update also, like with OS X 10.10.3, brings easier Google login functionality for users with two-factor accounts.”

Gurman reports, “Additionally, also in line with 10.10.3, Apple has brought a new Emoji picker and some new icons to the iPhone and iPad.”

    1. Yup don’t know why Apple doesn’t just junk the whole project then, I mean how long can it take a car company to redesign its facia and risk its future on technology that could give it (like Ford) dreadful publicity (not to mention cost) if it doesn’t work as claimed. I think being conservative is under the circumstances a sensible decision.

I believe the Ferrari might be the only car shipping with carpay today, although i haven’t confirmed that they really are shipping either.

Hyundai has demonstrated it in their sonata and has promised that it will be available in the current model year shortly for both the sonata and genesis

Similar story for some Audi and Mercedes models

So, to the best of my knowledge it’s about zero now, but getting close, maybe.
