BlueFin: No slowdown in Apple iPhone juggernaut, ‘impressive’ Mac momentum

“BlueFin Research Partners analysts John Donovan and Steve Mullane today review what they’ve gleaned about production trends by Apple, remarking that the see ‘no evidence the AAPL juggernaut to be derailed any time soon,'” Tiernan Ray reports for Barron’s.

“Apple continues to gobble up smartphone business, the authors write, and Samsung Electronics doesn’t appear to be indicating any dramatic upturn in their business,” Ray reports. “The authors see Apple’s Mac continuing to outperform the PC market: ‘With units in 2014 reaching record levels of 19.5M, we are forecasting AAPL to buck the PC trend once again and post 10-12% unit upside in 2015 to near 22M based on our supply chain reads. Keeping in mind that the broader PC market is expected to decline 3-5% in our estimation in 2015 and the vast majority of activity coming at ultra-low price points, the AAPL momentum is even more impressive.”
