  1. May the skylark of happiness lift the spirits of the aged, the pelican of joyfulness shower toys amongst the children, and the seagull of retribution deposit organic nutrients on the Samsung executive suite.

      1. It looked in the mirror and laughed itself to death.

People think it’s African, but it’s not. I came up with Kwanzaa because black people wouldn’t celebrate it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around Christmas because I knew that’s when a lot of Bloods were partying. – Ron Karenga (née Everett), convicted felon (felonious assault and false imprisonment), black separatist, and inventor of Kwanzaa

“Deborah Jones, who once was given the Swahili title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were whipped with an electrical cord and beaten with a karate baton after being ordered to remove their clothes. She testified that a hot soldering iron was placed in Miss Davis’ mouth and placed against Miss Davis’ face and that one of her own big toes was tightened in a vise. Karenga, head of US [meaning “Us black people”], also put detergent and running hoses in their mouths, she said. They also were hit on the heads with toasters.”

        1. @ Historian,

You are absolutely correct. I’ll amplify on your points:

Kwanzaa was invented by one Mr. Everett, a convicted felon—one of 14 siblings born into his family. For years in the 60’s, Everett affiliated himself with organizations that took up an armed struggle (read: shooting guns at people) with the U.S. government in hopes of establishing a separate political structure for blacks. Most of these followers were not unlike the Taliban and ISIS: underdogs who got spun up listening to angry rhetoric from charismatic leaders and started packing heat so they could feel like top dogs.

Kwanzaa is not steeped in centuries-old traditions, and its roots are suspect at best.

Since its inception in 1965 by this felon (born Ronald McKinley Everett), elementary schools and certain other elements of society have been anxiously tripping over their shoelaces in an effort to seem as “inclusive as possible, M’kay.”

None of this changes the fact that exceedingly few black people who claim to “observe” Kwanzaa can name even half of the seven guiding principles that are the foundation of Kwanzaa. And that is a darn shame, because if all blacks truly embraced the seven principles (go read them), black society would be much better off and far fewer young black children would have to grow up without a father in the home.

        2. I’m sorry, Greg. But speaking the truth when it isn’t politically correct has long gone out of fashion. Perhaps you should write a little poem about how we’re all OK would be a good idea, M’kay?

    1. All I want for Christmas is Jim Harbaugh to say yes to the Wolverines. The Michigan tribe has been wandering in the wilderness for some time now- penance has been made.

To all of those who are serving this day somewhere away from home in our Armed Forces:
1-Thank You for your service to America.
      2-Come home safely and soon.

  2. Made happier by the news Samsung has closed its “flagship” store in London.

May the liars, thieves, and cheats at Samsung have a green and red 16 ton anvil crash through their HQ.

  3. A great and merry Christmas to you all and a fabulous New Year too.

On another note, I traveled a couple days ago from Arizona to Minneapolis, then Minneapolis to DC. In every flight, at the airports, I didnt see any other phones but Iphones, tablets were ipads except one traveling pilot had a surface and was showing it to another pilot that had an ipad, and the laptops I saw were Macbooks.
I understand that there is coincidences in life but not this much. Again, it appears that most travelers prefer Apple products. For fans of other products, this is not meant as a knockdown, i am just making an observation.

  4. Thank you MDN for another fine year. Merry Christmas and best wishes to all, including all life forms and non-life forms, viruses and the rest. Goddess bless Gaia, Pax Universalis.

  5. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. Special thanks and best wishes to the regulars here who brighten, enlighten and bestow us with great comments, helpful hints and most of all your wicked sense of humor. MDN thank you so much for the great comments all year long. Good health and happiness to you forever and a smile to my face each and every day.
