iOS 9 wish-list: VIP for Contacts, not just Mail

“Mail’s VIP feature is great,” Rene Ritchie writes for iMore. “I can ‘star’ the people most important to me, thus enabling sound and Lock screen notifications solely for them.”

“It’s a great way to make sure I’m alerted when I get email that matters, and avoid being interrupted when it doesn’t,” Ritchie writes. “My problem? VIP currently only exists as a feature in the Mail app. There’s no way to do the same for Messages or any other communication app I have installed.”

“I’d love to see VIP moved from Mail’s settings to Contacts proper, so that I can make sure the people who are literally ‘very important’ get through more easily, no matter how they choose to communicate with me,” Ritchie writes. “And it’d be great if it happened with iOS 9.”

    1. Native group emailing on iPhone and iPad please! I wanted this when it first came out, 7.5 years ago! (And I don’t want to get a 3rd party app for that.) Why doesn’t Apple do it? 😖

  1. I would love to see OS X Contacts be a browser-style app, like Finder, so you can easily go back and forward to recently viewed cards. I’m completing a bunch of football recruiting forms and college app websites with my son, and the information is never all in order so I can look at each card, pull the info, and move to the next one.

  2. My wish is for Contact Groups. Like an email list, having a regular Text (or iMessage) list would be convenient, too. Being able to name them as a group would be great.

(Now, someone tell me it already exists and how to do it!)
