Analyst: Apple to have ‘blockbuster’ holiday season

“Apple is going to have a ‘blockbuster’ holiday season not just in North America but around the globe, JMP Securities’ Alex Gauna is predicting,” Michelle Fox reports for CNBC. “‘What appears to be on the table is resurgence in share gains for Apple,’ Gauna, the firm’s managing director, said in an interview with CNBC’s ‘Power Lunch’ Tuesday.”

“In some stores, iPad Minis and iPad 2 Airs [sic] are out of stock and there is ‘exceptionally strong demand’ for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, he said,” Fox reports. “‘We haven’t even moved into the Chinese Lunar New Year selling season abroad. So I do believe it is going to be a very strong holiday sales cycle for Apple.'”

  1. And flying under the radar is that Apple store gift cards are now available everywhere for the first time ever (check out the gift card stand at your local grocery store). Sales will continue to surge even after the holidays with all those gift cards.

  2. JMP Securities’ Alex Gauna becomes Guana near the end of the article. It’s one or the other, not both! CNBC is just plain sloppy. At least they didn’t make him Guano.
