All eyes on Apple as company reports Q414 earnings today

“Apple is scheduled to announce fiscal fourth-quarter earnings after the market closes on Monday,” Daisuke Wakabayashi reports for The Wall Street Journal.

“Net income of $1.31 a share is the consensus of analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters, compared with a split-adjusted $1.18 from a year earlier,” Wakabayashi reports. “Revenue of $39.84 billion is forecast, compared with $37.5 billion reported a year earlier.”

“No product matters more to Apple’s bottom line than the iPhone. It started selling the new iPhones on Sept. 19 – near the end of the quarter – but that might have been enough time to lift Apple’s results,” Wakabayashi reports. “Analysts polled by Fortune Magazine are forecasting iPhone sales of 37.8 million units in the fourth quarter, which would be a 12% increase from a year earlier.”
