heh, thanks for that… been saying not available for a few hours now.
Fuck appstore! Tried to get it about 20 times and everytime it crashes! Since I have SSD for system this wears it off. Gimme direct link WITHOUT f**ing appstore!
doesn’t work
Went on around 5:30 P.M. EST and am now downloading update. At 5:00, it still wasn’t available. I guess they’re doing some sort of rolling rollout.
DL’ing now. And all before sunset in Hawaii!
Downloading now 5:00 CST
I think I’ll wait until you feisty early adapters get your hands on it. I’ve been burned by first-day software too many times in the past to take the risk. Can’t wait to hear the reviews — especially when it comes to older machines (I’ve got a 2009 MacBookPro and a 2011 iMac).
This year, the “feisty early adopters” already had their turn during the public beta of OS X.
I’m one of those feisty early adopters. So far, the only problem I’ve encountered is with the umlaut. For some reason I cannot make one nor can I make and accent over a letter such as for French or Spanish, backwards or forwards. I can make åø and other symbols with option just fine. This is sort of annoying when one is trying to pick up German and has known how to make alternate characters since his first Mac with OS 7.
I’m having the same problem with the umlaut – for some reason the umlaut has no trouble appearing by itself ¨¨¨¨¨ but it refuses to be placed over a letter!
I’m not updating until after I update Parallels which wont work with Yosemite.
Parallels 9 and 10 both work fine with Yosemite beta versions, but yes, update to their latest releases…
Using ||9.
Although I develop cross platform apps, I don’t see a need to upgrade to ||10.
Updated to ||9.2 as per instructions. Simple. Fast. And Works.
After I updated iTunes and a security update, Yosemite became available for download from the store.
(*#&@$(*@&#$(*&@#$(& THANKS! Apple! 5.19 gigs in and the Server times out on me. 5 gigs of bandwidth down the drain. (*#@&$*&#@*$ THANKS!
Errrr… your ISP failed you, not Apple.
buIISh!t. Tried again, Same thing! AHHHH Another 5 gigs down the toilet. Appstore give me “NSInternalInconsistencyException”.
I keep getting the same error message @carrioneater : NSInternalInconsistencyException
Is that a timeout issue and I should keep trying or a true system error that needs attention?? So frustrating as the progress bar on the download is almost full when this message pops up and fails everytime… any input would be appreciated

usually this happens to people using 10.6.8, system says the current os is not compatible with new os being downloaded.
Got it and enjoying it so far. One thing I don’t like is the Tool/Tab bar in Safari – the shade of grey is too light, it makes it look like how it would’ve in Mavericks if it was in the background. I keep clicking the top bar to try to ‘bring it to the forefront’, but it’s already there. Suppose that’s just years of visual memory that I’ll have to try to forget. Anyone else finding this, or is it just me?!
just finished installing it. Safari is so snappy!
Now Its 3h of downloading on 100bps.
Yippee! My mid 2007 iMac can use Yosemite, I will be very excited to see how slow it will be, would it be as slow as iPhone 4S with iOS 8, exciting times, every update adds more goo in the gears.
Any thoughts on how to download 1x ? Don’t see it on the Support->Downloads page. Have a few machines to update and don’t feel like burning through my b/w.
@miniwarmth There are instructions for creating an installable thumb drive at this link… http://www.iclarified.com/44701/how-to-make-a-bootable-os-x-yosemite-usb-install-key
Thanks. That’s exactly why I came to this article. I figured someone would post a link for that. I haven’t done a clean install on my MacBook Pro since Lion. I figure it’s about time to clean out the cruft.
Ugh. Have you seen the new iTunes logo yet? I just threw up in my mouth a little. This is the end of the elegance. I don’t even want to put Yosemite on my computer. Thought I was disappointed by iOS 7.
Red iTunes icon..
Now that I found cDock to get 3D dock back, and black!
Next up, look to replace icons. (not a high priority, but I like to customize my OS)
How much HD space is required for install? I have less than 10GB …
You need 15 Billion Godzillabytes of free Space.
8 GB.
But you’ll actually be left with about 4-5 GB after the install is over if you have 10 GB now.
From App Store, Security Updated, permissions repaired, then DLed Yosemite, installed, then updated iPhoto, Aperture and printer software.
Everything works so far. Seems faster in Safari and in the finder, Word 2013 had an update waiting for me. Love the new typeface; the icons are going to take some getting used to. Trash is only one that bothers me.
Forget the naysayers, my Mac has run faster and with less fan use after every update since I got it. So good work SW engineers!
MB Air, late 2012.
Installing all the other updates after Yosemite finished was rather puzzling. For example, iMovie started with its progress bar appearing with 75% complete, then within 2 minutes the time remaining (in text form) danced all over the place, from 1 hr 6 minutes to 1 minute and everything in between, up & down. Within 2 minutes it was done. I’ve written progress bar software before and I realize the challenges, but this was crazy. Something is wrong with their method. (And if this is all I find puzzling, I’m gonna be a happy camper.)
Oh, and icon labels and the dock is so much more readable. I can even see the dot under the dock icons now!
Is anyone having issues with Safari and sharing a link? I see no service. Unable to send (email) a link from there up where task bar is. Would appreciate feedback please.
Safari otherwise is so fast on my MacBook Pro seems like I have a new machine!
No issues here. Link works fine. Definitely faster.
Have spent about an hour on Safari, testing out the app via Macworld’s excellent article, “OS X Yosemite: Get to know the new, slimmed down Safari.”*
Not particularly upset at the least with the changes. Learned a long time ago to not become a creature of habit. Of course it took over 20 years of marriage, that the faster I changed my habits the less of a creature I was. At least I got my wife to think so.

Has anyone else tried to make or recieve phone calls on there Mac?
It’s working spotty for me!!
2011 mbp 8g ram i7
Honestly, I think I’ll keep enjoying Mavericks for a few more months. OS X’s are at its best right when it retires – very update to date, fully patched, with millions of users having spent over a year testing every part of it.
You kids have fun being first ones on Yosemite. Please report anything that goes wrong, so it can be fixed before my arrival.
Staying away from Yosemite based on all the complaints in the Apple support forums. I like my WiFi working.
