“Yesterday Apple revealed the finalized pricing for its revamped iCloud plans, but at the time they weren’t available for purchase,” Mike Beasley reports for 9to5Mac. “Today the plans have officially gone live for all customers.”
With Apple’s iCloud Drive, you have the freedom to work with the document of your choice on the device of your choice. With iCloud Drive, you can safely store all your presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, and any other kind of document in iCloud. Then access them from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC.
To upload your files to iCloud, simply drag them into the iCloud Drive on your Mac running OS X Yosemite or PC running Windows 7 or later. Or start a new document using an iCloud-enabled app on your iOS device. Then you’ll be able to access those documents from all your devices.
Using iCloud Drive means you’ll always have access to the latest version of all your documents from any device. For example, you can start creating a presentation on your Mac at home, then make final edits and present it in class using your iPad. The changes you make along the way appear automatically on all your devices.
Your apps can now share files, which means you can access and work on the same file across multiple apps. For example, you can create a drawing in a sketching app, then open it in a painting app to color it in. Or create a chart in one app and place it in a slideshow using a presentation app. No more making copies or importing documents from one app to another. It’s a whole new level of collaboration between apps.

iCloud requires iOS 5 or later on iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch (3rd generation or later), iPad, or iPad mini; a Mac computer with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later; or a PC with Windows 7 or Windows 8 (Outlook 2007 or later or an up-to-date browser is required for accessing email, contacts, and calendars). Some features require iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite. Some features require a Wi-Fi connection. Some features are not available in all countries. Access to some services is limited to 10 devices.

My Dropbox account got upgraded to 1TB recently and I pay ~$99/year. That’s a bit better than the same amount of storage on iCloud. I was hoping Apple would be more competitive. However I upgraded from my current 15GB iCloud plan to the 20GB plan. That one DID save me money.
iCloud uses AppleToken to make it secure and meanwhile every web based iCloud Browser Login is followed by an Apple Notification Email, because browser Logins are not secured by Tokens. So if somebody else knows your iCloud password he could access your account that way.
I am using Dropbox since the iDisk has gone, but unfortunately the data is not encrypted in anyway or secured by Token.
I am keen to switch to iCloud with all of my Dropbox files asap, because a security breach on Apples server has not occurred yet, even if boulevard press and lots of trolls around are saying so. The Apple Token is doing a good job BUT of course a secure password is very important !
Just pick a sentence you can easily remember and
use every first letter,
add dads birthday in the middle and
add at least one special character somewhere in between.
With a password following the above rules and containing at least 14 digits you are damn safe !
Of course this unique password must be used only for your iCloud account !
I guess most of the people do not need more than 20 GB.
For me 200 GB is really affordable, knowing my data is as safe as possible.

Where is the list of things that require Yosemite?
Just a heads up, i was due for renewal in february and i received a partial refund. I was only notified of the refund by paypal because i used my paypal account on file. Apple hasn’t told me about the partial refund yet.
My letter said how much of a refund I get.
Question for anyone here. If you upgrade to one of the storage plans do you still get to keep the 5 gigs offered free? Thank you.

The 20gb plan gets you 20gb, not 25.
