“China Mobile, the world’s largest cellular carrier by subscribers, began accepting reservations for Apple’s unannounced next-generation iPhone on Tuesday and has subsequently racked up more than 33,000 orders since going live,” Mikey Campbell reports for AppleInsider.
“Currently limited to customers in Beijing, China Mobile’s reservations list went live earlier on Tuesday with order options tentatively confirming 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch ‘iPhone 6’ iterations, reports China Daily. Currently, customers can save their place in line through the company’s website and are being asked whether they prefer a 4.7-inch iPhone or 5.5-inch version, both new screen sizes rumored to debut with this year’s model,” Campbell reports. “The move to open online reservations ahead of an official Apple unveiling is not an unusual one for China Mobile, which did the same thing with a network-specific 4G LTE iPhone 5s last year. ”

Is that pre announcement, pre order the equal of the lines of people camping outside the 5th Ave store in anticipation?
This is sad! Only 33k? Yikes!
Ah Poop, you poor little guy.
Could that be the reason for Apple’s sudden nosedive? I haven’t found any other reasons. I’m sure yesterday’s iCloud nonsense isn’t the cause since there was no security breach.
SameSung is announcing even bigger phone (sorry meant iPhone wannabe). Buying opportunity in my mind…
33000? Wow
That’s impossible. Everyone knows Apple won’t be able to sell many iPhones in China now that the smartphone subsidies are being taken away by the Chinese government. All the analysts have said that iPhones are too darn expensive for the Chinese consumer. Xiaomi now owns the Chinese smartphone industry.
And don’t forget about Google’s Android One initiative in China where the average smartphone will cost $50 with no subsidy required and be just as good as any iPhone. 85% Android market share? You ain’t seen nothing yet.
