“According to a new rumor that’s doing the rounds on the Chinese tech sites (and which allegedly originates from ‘informed sources’), Apple will indeed hold a conference on the 9th day of September, but not all of its highly anticipated products will be present on-stage,” Mihai Matei reports for G 4 Games. “Instead, only the 4.7-inch version of the iPhone 6 will be unveiled, alongside the long rumored 8GB iPhone 5S model.”
“The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will probably arrive later in the year, and while this new rumor doesn’t mention any new details regarding the iWatch,” Matei reports, “all evidence thus far indicates that Apple’s first wearable is simply not ready for the market.”
Matei reports, “So to wrap things up, we might get to finally lay our eyes on the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 as early as September 9, but the larger model and the iWatch could face a later release.”

Really it ought to be “iOS Daily (or Hourly) Rumors” as most of the material on this site concerns the iOS devices rather than Mac devices.
You guys think the uptick in iOS-related stories might have anything to do with the fact that we’re about 10 days away from a major product announcement in a time frame that traditionally has to do with iPhones and iOS?
I think somebody at Apple is purposefully releasing tidbits of mis-informaton to confuse the market enough – so that the actual products are a mystery on Event Day.
IIRC, it seems like SJ had a system of releasing different tidbit of special mis-info into different departments to see what made it to the rumor mill press, and from there he could trace back to who the leakers were. Bingo!
A clarification to a correction concerning an unconfirmed rumor.

This whole notion of come up with a big rumor (sorry LIE) to push the stock down so your pay masters can load up cheaper should be made criminal. Yes I know it is difficult to prove and the pay master are paying those who would investigate them anyway so just one person going on a rant …

Look, you can drive yourself crazy with rumors or you can look at the facts. To many leaks to not know there will be a bigger iPhone of some sorts ready for quick shipment after the event.
The other facts are that Apple has already announced Home Kit and Health Kit. These two platforms would be much more valuable to Apple and users alike with some kind of wearable, call it a wrist thingy or what ever you want. Even Mobile payments benefits from it.
Apple would not be increasing seating capacity and building a custom display area at the Flint Center without announcing something more than an increase in screen size. You have to have supplies of a new iPhone to ship when you announce so you don’t eat into your existing revenue stream. You can announce whatever you want to if it is completely new and does not negatively affect the sales of existing product lines.
The original iPhone was announced in January and shipped in June. If you think that Apple has created a revolutionary new device and put it into mass production before they have a chance to announce it then you really don’t know anything about Apple and should stop reading this site.
They can knock off working prototypes of anything they can dream up for presentation and then move to production afterwards. They could announce on the Sept 9th and ship in next year for all they care. They are all about the experience and not timelines. Having it ready for Chinese New Year could be their target for all we know.
Announcing now and shipping later does not stop anyone from wrapping up the preorder receipt and putting it under the tree for Christmas.

Actually it will be 6 inches, and cost $1300, with curved sapphire OLED IPS screen, with artificial muscle first time ever zoom lens, on a 256GB phone.
With a battery that goes one month without a recharge.
Big announcement at a bigger event centre is not going to be a speed bumped phone or even one with a bigger screen.
Nope, the problem is that Apple is newsworthy and the supply chain has more leaks than Apple can possibly secure. So, like the iPhone they will announce something that is far enough down the pipeline that they have 2yrs headstart on the copycats – who themselves can only copy the form-factor until Apple release the device and they buy a dozen and pull them to pieces.
So, expect something new but not immediately available.
Well, thats my bet anyway.
