Apple set to unveil new iPhones and wearable device on September 9th

“Apple Inc. is holding a Sept. 9 event, where the company is said to be preparing to debut new iPhones and a wearable device,” Adam Satariano reports for Bloomberg. “The unveiling will be held at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts near Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.”

“Apple is set to introduce two new iPhone models: one with a 4.7-inch screen, and another with a 5.5-inch display, as well as a new wearable device, which would be the company’s first new product category since the iPad debuted in 2010, according to people familiar with the plans,” Satariano reports. “The Flint Center, which seats 2,300, has been used before for major Apple events, such as co-founder Steve Jobs’s introduction of the Macintosh in 1984. Jobs also unveiled the iMac at the theater in 1998. The venue also hosted an event earlier this year celebrating the Mac’s 30th anniversary.”

“Last year’s iPhone 5s and 5c also debuted on the second Tuesday of September,” Satariano reports. “Anticipation for this event has given Apple’s shares a boost. Already the world’s largest company by market value, Apple shares reached an intraday record today of $102.78, and are up 28 percent this year.”

  1. The Best invite insights:

    – The leaf of the Apple is casting a 10am shadow, like a sundial.

    – The logo is BIG. Like a 4.7″ and 5.5″ iPhone.

    – Wish: We could say more (offline Siri).

    – Wish we could say: MORE (new product coming).

    – The leaf looks like a finger touching something wrist-sized.

    – 9.9 of the date are two sixes upside down: two new iPhone 6.

    – The leaf and shadow suggest an iWatch with a convex “contact lens” shape emerging from a flat black band. The font of the 9’s suggest the same.

  2. I have a wearable device it is called a mechanical watch. Sure I have to wind it everyday but, it does not tell the entire planet about my whereabouts in 1 second intervals.
It amazes me how little value people put to their privacy.

    1. Rami, I can’t believe you ever leave your house. I mean, if you value your privacy so much how can you bear all those people knowing you’re buying groceries, or are at Market and 2nd buying gas? Do you know that the electric company knows volumes about you — how many people are in your family, your cleanliness, what you cook and how often? Do you realize that the phone company can know what you’re saying and your postal worker realizes that “Adam and Eve” isn’t a mail order Bible store?

Privacy is currency. We give it up when we do anything. We balance the value of what we’re doing with the value of what we’re getting. Yes we understand. Yes, it’s going to be okay.

    2. And yet here you are, posting a public comment, from your registered WordPress account, on an advertisement supported website with google analytics, on the freaking Internet. You just violated your own privacy a dozen times over.

  3. It’s about time! And I’m not referring to an iWatch this is about Timber’s recalcitrance. I would rather have a new Mini to make up for all those new exciting products that were to have been released Throughout 2014.
